would you like to see mt. st. helens become a national park?

the oregonian is pushing the st. helens national park thing again this year, the same poll we had last year. so far the yes vote is ahead. we need to change this! last year we won, i can't recall the %. if you enjoy our current riding areas we better start fighting for them or we'll lose them. first it will be st. helens then maybe bakerevery time you visit snowest please visit land use and see what's happening to areas we use, it's disgustingwe need to become more involved, if you ride a snowmobile you should be a member of organizations that look out for our best interest (W.S.S.A.,S.A.W.S.,BLUE RIBBON COALITION.) NOW GO TO THE LAND USE SETION AND VOTE TO KEEP ST. HELENS A NATIONAL FOREST!!!!

Personally, I think that the lava dome should be reserved for environmentalist left wing whack-jobs as a sort of retreat just for them.

Changing it to a National Park would be a bad idea. Not only would snowmobiles be restricted but also hunting. As a hunter and snowmobiler I am against restricting access to areas for certain use groups. My 2 cents.

changing it to a national park would seem like it will take away from the local business's along the way to the sno-parks.

TERRIBLE snow... it was about the consistency of concrete.
Crap weather- fogged in so bad that you couldn't see anything.
I drove something like 7-8 hours ONE WAY to meet a friend and his riding buddies up there for some "epic riding conditions" according to a a friend of one of the guys in the group. It sucked so hard we bailed around 11. I can drive a whole lot less and find better conditions, so I don't think I'll ever go back to St. Helens.
