Would I be making a Mistake???

Hey guys I have a question for you snowbikers. Here is a bit of history so you know where I am coming from. I have riden snowmobiles for 20 years and I sold my 2009 XP 800 and bought the bike and kit. I bought a 2012 YZ450F and a 2013 Timbersled kit. I have all the goodies installed as in Rekluse Clutch, thermostat, air box mods ect. It has been a blast riding and exploring new places that I could not get to on my sled. So here is my issue, 2 weeks ago I took my girlfriend riding and we rented her a sled (2012 XP 800) and I made the mistake of riding it. I have to admitt that I had more fun on that sled in the 20 minutes that I rode it than I have on the Timbersled this season. I would love to have a Timbersled and a new sled but I dont have the coin to have both. I have been pondering snowchecking a new XM for next year so my question is, have any of you ran into this issue and what would you do in this situation?

Thanks

Had more fun on the sled? Sounds hard to believe. I still love sleds, but if I can only afford one toy in the garage it's going to be the Horse. If I was stuck in the flatlands or destined to ride trails for the next few years I would understand.... but living in the timber'd West there is no doubt in my mind that our country puts the Horse right in it's element.

One thing you might consider is that riding with sleds makes you have to ride completely different. Different routes, different lines, constantly looking over your shoulder to see how far behind they are... it can suck sometimes. As the sport grows and more people convert you won't have to deal with this as much. I have had more fun, save maybe a half dozen of the most epic snow days in the last 8 years, on the Horse than I ever did on my sled.

I say give it at least another year. Try to find some more bikes to ride with and it will be way more fun. When I first started and didn't have other one skis to ride with I didn't have as much fun as I do now. Work on trying to find new terrain that you have never thought of riding in. Save some money for the year riding the bike. The money saved could go to a new sled, but I think you may keep the bike. There are companies making turbos if you are looking for more power. Thats another option. It is a whole new sport that just doesn't compare to anything else and just needs a little time to learn. I've been riding one ski since 03 and each year gets more fun.

Thanks for the input. Just so you guys know I have two other buddies that I am riding with that have Snowbikes so there is no issues there. We have a blast but jumping on that sled was great and it felt good to be back on the sled again.

Different strokes for different folks,Tats kind of what makes the world turn isnt it? SHA should have a Utube for that somewhere.
I would just do what you feel is best. some like bikes, some like quads.
As long as your having a good time who cares??
For most guys here there probably is no looking back. Ive been doing the single ski thing for about 5 years now even within the single skis available its nice to have a choice on what to ride. One machine wont do it all.
Good luck on whatever you decide:juggle:

Do what feels natural. I love technical riding. Crawling around in places that sleds have to bawls out with no idea of what's ahead makes me smile. It's a different mind set I guess. To me, sleds are faster, can go higher, and are better on trails. But..for me, none of those things matter. I love the tight dirt bike feel of it. Being able to do a figure 8 on a slope that the sleds have to go to the bottom to get a turn-around just adds to the amount of riding I get in. Again, ride what makes you happy.
