Would a Turbo be compatable with porting and head work on a M8?

I just got back from a ride where I was lucky enough to ride a supercharged Apex Mountain, a supercharger Nytro Mountain and a Nytro Mountain with an Impulse Turbo. Wow was that ever fun!

I have the SLP performance edition kit on my M8 and I'm wondering if the new two stroke turbo kits are compatable with the porting and head work associated with this kit?

Dam frosty, u still need more power? I haven't ridden a turbo yet and I'm afraid if I do I'll be like u wanting to turbo my sled.( I rode with a race gas TM7 and an 09 Race gas TM1200, very, very impresive) As it is none of my friends can keep up with me on my M8 the most fun sled I've ridden. All though the 2011 Pro RMK looks pretty awesome!

Yup, I need more power like another hole in my head but, wow that boost is an addictive thing!

So, would it work with the SLP kit?

sell your performance kit to someone with a stock M8 and get cash and stock parts. thats what you need for a turbo... or turbo specific porting and head mods.

I love my performance edition kit (when it runs) and I don't plan to dismantle it by any means.

I was just wondering if there was another satge of horsepower available to those that already have porting and or a head on their sled?

let me know if you get serious about the change.i would swap you my jugs and head plus cash for your ported jugs head and the pc.

Frostbite I too had this question as I have Dand D stage 2 ported cylinders and matched heads for my M1000. After talking to Boondockers, OVS, Twisted Turbos and VOHK they have all come back to me and said I have to go back to stock which I am doing tomorrow and then bringing the sled to VOHK for a pumpgas turbo. Kind of a two steps forward and three steps back deal. Makes me wish I would have turboed right off the bat. Hope this helps.

Link to a good turbo discussion. http://www.snowestonline.com/forum/showthread.php?t=149418 Fellow by the name of Gus Bohne seems to be a carb turbo guru. He helped Tonysnoo put a turbo on a cpc dragon 1000, both Gus & Tony are very sharp on turbo porting (what works & doesn't). I would pm one of these guys before you make a decision one way or the other. I to have porting work on my sled, when I tear it down this summer for the turbo I will chatting with both of these guys.

Thanks guys. It seems like porting OR a turbo, not both.

I'm ok with that, I just wondered if porting or head work might give the turbo a bit more punch? I guess without special tuning, the answer is don't even try.

Running ported jugs on mine but your compression needs to be down to 12.5 : 1 on the head. You would probably have to find a stock head.
