Won a trip to Grand Lake...

Won a trip to Grand Lake... pics of the trip

Thanks to Snowest ! :D My wife and I are headed to Grand lake Wednesday for a couple of days of sledding. ( coming from Idaho ) We are staying at the Western Riveria and and riding sleds from "On the trails Rentals".

Question...Whats a good loop to to see the best sights ?
We are both good riders and can do pretty much anything.

Best place to eat in GL ?
Dinner ?
Breakfast ?
Nightlife ?
Other things to doo / see ?

We will be riding Thursday and Friday this week. Then headed to Winter Park to ski Saturday. I grew up skiing there. Its been 30 years !

If anyone would like to join us and show us around I would be glad to do the same if you are ever in Boise.:beer;

We are leaving just as McCall got about 4' of new snow in the last week.

We won the whole enchilada !

Dinner would be "The Rapids" might need reservations but most likely I would call to make sure they are open.

Breakfast is a toss-up. The Black Bear or maybe The Terrace

About the only night life is The Lariat, do not expect too much.

Go ride at Gravel Mtn and the surrounding area and have fun.

If you want Mexican, try Pancho and Lefty's. Stay away from El Pacifico.

The Chinese place in Granby is excellent!

Be safe though. If they are getting the same snow as RE/Buff avy danger is gonna be extreme and Gravel loves to slide from what I hear. Several deaths this season alone.

For sure ponchos, and Daven Haven for steaks! me and a pal will be riding either thu or fri if you want to meet up for ride IDAHDOO. i know my way around pretty good if you wanna go hunting for the freshies!!

not to pee in your cheerios, but...

if i had 4 feet in my back yard i would not drive to GL to ride. See if you can have them honor it for next year because conditions are so sketchy.

Last i heard, you couldnt even ride through town anymore because the snow was all gone.

I have been here 7 winters and this is the worst one ever. Unless we get some moisture, it's all going to burn this summer.

I would make some calls before you make the drive, thats all.

Sometimes just going someplace new is enough fun even if the snow isn't the best. Just the adventure of it all.

Was that last video in Idaho? I've been to GL a few times and don't remember seeing anything like that, but we didn't venture too far off the trail either since we had kids with us.
