Why we have to surender to the wolf lovers? It is crap that the people that make a living with our public land are being push around! My be it is time to play cowboys and Wolf supporters!!! How long will it be before the wolfs start showing up at your door?

Wolves

This really sucks for the familys that have cattle ranches being attacked. I guess if here in PDX we had someone taking money away from us we would want to defend our objective. If its a problem like this pack is time to get rid of them there are more wolves in other areas. Wolves really just arent a good idea for the states anyway. Mother nature handles the food chain with age then death with dominant animals. Someone who probably gets out east once a year thought it would be a good idea to put the imnaha wolves out. Well here is the effect of your cause... Let those people who like wolves feed them by hand then.

Suitcase,

Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't the wolves that are being reintroduced a different species then what was here before? If I remember correctly, they are massive compared to the original wolf native to these parts.

Now there is a $10,000.00 reward for information on who shot one of the Wenaha wolves. Where did that money come from? Could have been used to compensate the ranchers, but noooo! 22-250 or 30.06? Just saying.

It doesn't suck for just the families that are attacked. IT SUCKS FOR EVERYONE including town people who would like to take their families and small children out to enjoy the public woods.

How many of you can have $1500 taken out of your check book without warning? How many of you can afford to have your annual income reduced by 20% but you don't get to find out about it until the end of the year. IE right at tax day the gov essentially says you owe us plus 20% over what you thought and planned on. THAT IS THE AVERAGE FINANCIAL IMPACT IN WOLF PROBLEM AREAS AND THAT IS JUST AS OF NOW. Very early in the economic cycle. There is no answer or relief either.

How would you like to live unprotected in a place were you aren't allowed to defend yourself, your family, and your personal possessions from a non natural predator? Imagine living in town and having some meth head who is protected by LAW rummaging around in your stuff whenever they feel the need! The wolf introduction program has turned out to be a complete farce and total (PLUS VERY EXPENSIVE FOR ALL PARTIES) mistake. Defenders of Wildlife who are the initiators of this action are essentially bankrupt and are no longer supporting the impact funding...the cost of management is taxing the fish and feathers....the impact on rural business' are piling up at an incredible rate and they don't have ANY EXTRA! A good portion of Eastern Oregon's economy is ag based and in just of few short years of this nonsense there is already a noted impact. JUST WAIT..more is on the way and it's not good for anybody. THIS MADNESS MUST STOP

This issue is just starting in eastern washington. My elk unit has a pack just to the north and there now in my deer unit. I hope the game dept does not wait till its to late to keep this in check but I think its gonna be a game changer for us.

I used to live and work in Idaho. We used to have successful hunting trips. The folks that I talk to now that either work or hunt in these areas are either witnessing massive needless killing of wildlife by the wolves, or not finding anything on a hunting trip. I'm guessing the Fish&Game dept's are going to be losing revenue as hunters quit buying the tags and licenses to go camping. Then what? I know this is just a small portion of it, but if the F&G have no revenue, they will be begging at the State and Federal level for "mandatory" funding to support their staff.

wolf pic

This is a pic from a friend in joseph that i received recently. I do not know where this was taken tho. :face-icon-small-sho

I believe that was the one collared in Jackson Hole, WY over the summer and was eventually shot south west of MILES CITY, MT a couple weeks ago.

OR-7 made front page news in the Bend Bulletin on Wednesday. OR-7 is a lone male wolf. Originally from the Imnaha pack, he left Eastern Oregon in September, and is now south of Crater Lake........or at least his collar is. Maybe some homeless person is wearing it!! Hopefully he keeps going and ends up in California.

I was picturing a feeding frenzy on the streets of San Francisco. Hey, that would make a good horror movie!

Yes the way I understand it the wolf they have brought back is the timber Wolf, which is larger and more dominant, and aggresive. Says the experts.

It is just cruel what the deer, elk, cows, and other animals have to go through just because the greenies think by bring the wolf back will give them another tool to keep us out of the Mt.

If you ever get a chance to watch "Crying Wolf The Movie", watch it. You could watch it for free on the internet up until the first of this month, now it is closed and available for purchase. I watched it and it is an excellent source of true info on the reintroduction.

I swear I saw one in the Crescent Lake area two years ago while out sledding, sure the hell wasn't a german sheppard, nor someones pet out where we were.

Enviro-nazis, can't live with them, and wouldn't be worth the jail time to kill'em. Just have to keep fighting them however we can.

If the wolves are eating the entire food supply in a region and the only thing left in the winter are on two legs (with skis), that can't outrun them, what do you suppose will happen?

The timber wolf was native...the canadian grey wolf was not.
The canadian grey is what was reintroduced.
