Raining in town so it was really heavy 2-3'+ snow. Had Hijackers on mine and the carbon M1100t. We were working on clutching but didn't expect that kind of snow. The Carbon worked quite a bit better than mine with over 35lbs less weight, fresh air intake we did with the new hood, and the Camo Extreme 2.5".

It was also the first ride for the JL stereo M8 153 Thrasher. We didn't have any bar bags that would work so the ipod didn't get mounted like we wanted but it still worked awesome. You could easily hear it riding under full throttle, and so could anyone with 30' of you. Had as many people looking at that as the carbon M1100t. The orange LED underglow looked killer when the light got lower.

This was in Super Bowl at Allen Creek in Valemount. Snow was sick.:face-icon-small-hap

Looks like some nice snow. That thing must be pretty heavy though. Sounds like your working pretty hard. Heavy deep snow can make riding alot harder on a guy. How does it feel? Love the T4 stroke idea but not sure I can could get use to riding a sled 150lbs heavier than the one I ride. What do you think of the weight?

I was down about 6-800 rpm working on weights, when it shifted out it was pretty great. In that whole clip I think it shifted out once starting on hardpack. Work in progress.

As far as weight, well I weighted my "lightweight" Apex and it was 17lbs heavier than the 1100 stock was, and I loved that thing at 300+ hp. Not sure what you are riding that is 520 ready to ride, my partner has a carbon TM8 that is 520 rtr.

When I'm done this will be close to a stock M8 weight and 300hp. Asking a 4 stroke guy how the weight feels is like me asking a 2s guy how he likes 150hp less....just saying. I always said, if you aren't close to 200lbs then the extra weight will be a struggle. It's all what you are used to. It's the easiest 4 stroke to ride I've been on. Is it the easier than the stock M8 we had in our group, no, but I also couldn't go the places I did on mine with it.

Each to their own.:tea:

can i ask you a question................ i`m in the market for a new proclimb but can`t decide between the M800 or the M1100T......
i`m a bit bigger guy at about 240lbs unsuited........ so i`m wondering if the 800 will have a hard time pulling my arse around and if the 1100t will be a struggle in the trees....... any insight would be helpfull.

thanks.

on your more stock sled what are you running for weights in the primary with the hindle? Or are you just running the stock ones and letting it rev. I am putting a muzzy carbon fiber can on mine and I am not sure if I should bother with the clutching or let it rev.

As we know, ya can't have it all. I got to a point where an 800 didn't go where I wanted to and that is when I went to the TApex. You give up some technical riding no question. There is a reason you don't see 4 strokes in Bret's videos lol. If you do mostly tree riding and not a lot of vertical stuff you would be better served on an 800. I still tree ride and like boondocking but I'll give up the odd line I can't do that someone in the group does to be able to go up any hill I want. There aren't a lot of agressive riders in the 225+ club that ride non turbo 2s. Best way is obviously to try one if you can. We are in Vale a fair bit so maybe we'll run into each other. If your last sled was a 2s and it did everything you wanted then there is no reason to think an M800 wouldn't be a good choice too.

As for weights I have a set of Cutler adjustables in now and started at 96 and am pulling weight out. Even with just the 85 arms it pulls like 5 grams more. They are definately more aggressive. My buddy is going this weekend and leaving it with stock weights to start. If the snow is like it was I think he will be fine most of the time. We all have Hijackers thou, not just the Hindle. With just the muffler change I can't see you needing more weight unless you are trail or lake racing. Most are in the 6-10hp gain. I would leave it alone and try it first.

Hey, sorry to highjack your thread, but I'm really intrigued about the JL M800 Thrasher. You built it for a guy 610 ready to ride, I'm almost 500 ready to ride, and have done some reinforcing to handle my weight. I'm wondering what you have done as I'm always looking for new ideas!

any video of the carbon one???

As for the Thrasher you should just PM me and we can talk. It was all done on a stock M8 153 with a bunch of eye candy. It probably added 12-15 lbs, about as much as we saved in the can. My guess is it is around 560 rtr. To much to type about the stereo. I can tell you it gets more looks than the turbos.:face-icon-small-win

By the time I got around to hopping on the carbon 1100 my battery was dead. Isn't that the way....the owner of it doesn't ride with a camera so no vid from him unfortunately. Both him and I came off of 300+ Apexs so we aren't in that world yet but his lighter weight is noticeable to mine. The only thing climbing better than him was the carbon TM8 in our group....and he typically forgets his camera in the truck. Boooooo!
