I got a westach water temp guage to attach to my 07 rev. My question is where to hook the wires up so that i get a ground and a hot wire for the guage. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Evan

Wiring diagram would be the easiest. You can get a hot wire off your headlight and there should be a ground as well. Or the constant wire to the taillight.

to the black ground wire coming out of the wiring harness.. I'm nervous about tapping into my headlight wires. There is a high and low beam wire and i dont know if they would both get voltage all the time.

What about tapping into the grip heater wires off the switch? That would be an easy wiring job.

The taillight is also another easy wire to get.

I'm not sure if you refer to the accessory plug as the ones near the speedo, but I tapped into those to run a Cyberdyne digital water temp guage on my wife's '04 800.

Not sure if it's the same on the '07, but if you take off the part of the console that houses the speedo and tach, you should see the factory plugs that the accessory guages would tap into.

Here's a link to the page that I used as a guide.

yes thats what im referring to. Thats what I used to hook up my gauge on my 07

Might not have to change the switch if its a total kit, it will come with its own sender that you have to plumb into a coolant line. It will be completely independant of the factory over temp light. At least this is what I'm assuming, if he's just wiring the gauge to the existing temp sender then its not going to work.

Good point team dirt. :)
