Wiring question 01 Summit handle bar rizers?

I'm adding almost 7"-8" of rizers to my 01 Summit and have to extend some of the electrical wiring to the handlebars, kill switch and headlight's mostly, everything else will probubly just make it through removing zip ties and a bit of re-routing. What type of connectors/connections are best to extend the wires and where do you get them:confused:

I have done some rewiring on my street motorcycles before but this is just a harsher environment than the bike tends to be in.

Thanks for the help.

I've done this to my '00 summit. I just spliced in extra wire making sure to solder the connections and shrink tube them. Never a problem.

I see this quite a lot.
Splice in the wires 1 at a time so that no wires get crossed.
I've used the automotive butt connectors for years now with zero issues.
Shrink wrap them when you are done.
Then Wire loom to keep all nice and proyected a little further.

I am a big fan of sodering. There is less bulk when you are done to fit into the wire loom. Make sure you shrink tube every one though and don't skimp on the length of the tube.

Thanks, did the solder method last night, put one layer of shrink tubing over the solder site, shrunk it, then layered another longer section on top of that, extending 1 1/2" - 2" on each side of the solder joint. Looks clean and averything works:)!
