Wires running thru Riser block on RMK 700

I was looking at my wifes 09 RMK700 with a new set of 7" RSI risers in my hand wondering about the 6 sets of wires running thru the riser block.I thought it would be a 10 minute job like on myD800.Is there an easy way to do this other than tracing every wire connection from under the cowling and unplugging .It doesn't look like any other option as it looks impossible from the bar end of things. Its always a PIA unplugging those factory connections as they always seem to be held together differantly.Any advise would be much app thks.

Ha! Ha! Those damned details, gonna have to run down those disconnect plug-ins, it's not that bad, just add a few more cold ones to the job. :face-icon-small-sho

I just cut the factory block with a sawz-all, much quicker and no need to figure out what to disconnect where.

If you want to save the factory riser the best thing you can do is disconnect the wires under the hood rather than at the bars. All the connectors are right there under the dash in pretty much the same area. You will have to cut a few wire ties but all the connectors are pretty easy to disconnect. If you can help it, don't try to take apart the digital display controls on the left side of the bars as it is a MAJOR pain to get back together.

There is one connector you have to get out of the control block. It is a real pain as 600rmk144 said. I ended up screwing up the block by breaking a plastic tab in there. Had to buy a new control half for $80.

It is really not that bad of a job, It is NOT the 10 min job you think is but not to bad. I think it took me an hour and that included setting the riser and bars just where I needed them. The biggest PIA was splitting the brake lever block apart.
