winter forcast

Anyone seen the Almanac forecast for next winter yet?

something to consider is the Hurricane severity seems to have an effect on the winters , An extremely active hurricane season has been followed by a big winter on the west coast

I typically comment about the weather BUT even with facts last season the damn storms dumped somewhere else so I'm a gonna gather even more facts this year to make any predictions.

Besides the sled crews on here are mighty superstitious when it comes to predicting anything and would be very concerned looking a tail ends or the moon , or a certain chiropractors whereabouts to see what is gonna happen.

One thing for sure our govenor sure like our money.

$150 tax cause I live near trees?

Sometimes us superstitious folks go to really bizarre lengths. Been watching the snowpack in Chile and they seem to be having a fair to good year of snow right now. Last year the resorts down there barely opened so maybe a predictor.

Funny you say that , There is a data base which does correlate other county's current winter and there is a direct pattern to the up coming winter here on the west coast

The worst part is it that money is not even going to be used to fight the fires or staff the fire trucks! I'm sure it will be stollen just like the fuel taxes to use for some other program.

I heard that we are going to have a colder then normal winter and precipitation is slightly above average. That was from a NASA website that has a record of being dead on every year.

LOL...huh????

Huh on what Anthony?

The new $150 (minimum) property tax for any parcel property near a fire zone? Depending on the property it could go up to $3000

Hundreds of thousands of rural property owners in California will be shelling out up to $150 a year so that Cal Fire can continue to protect them from fires.

It's controversial legislation that the Gov. Jerry Brown signed earlier this year.

Last week, many residents received notice from the state that they will be assessed a new annual fire protection fee called the State Responsibility Area Fee. The SRA fees will raise about $89 million a year for fire prevention efforts.

Many of the 800,000 people affected are just starting to get the bills in the mail and many of them aren't happy about it.

Huh on the "certain chiropractors wherabouts" comment.

I thought one weather forecaster was using the days you plan to ride as an indicator to weather patterns?

I had surgery in NOV 2011 and I pray noone figures out I couldn't ride so why should it snow?

Really what does it matter since I don't ride worth a darn.

Gotta appreciate these storm cells from Central America making it to California here ... expect pretty interesting swells and moisture from the storm off BAJA.

Sure helps SOCAL & Nevada mountains.

Just hoping this moisture is still there and grabbed when the jet stream shifts. (This causes snow !)

Remember TS turn counter clock wise and moist moisture is east by north east
