Our diesel in Canada is switched over to winter diesel. Which is the winter fuel in the U.S.? What temps is it good to and do you still need an additive?
Does anyone use the Seafoam auto marine motor treatment?

most places down here in MT only sell #2 but during different parts of the year it has different levels of anti gel stuff in it. one place locally also sells #1 and a mix of 50/50.

I think its like may1-oct31 is straight #2..
nov1-jan1 is lightly mixed I think good to -10
jan-april or something is down to -20.

dont quote me on all that stuff, its just my gueses.

as far as addatives, I run howies.

So the best fuel economy is with #2, will a person have to add any antigel to it when traveling to yellowstone from williston north dakota?

IMO, its usually warmer in west then ND... pretty much everywhere treats there #2 in the winter around here, and your milage acts accordingly... down down down. When i swing by the pump i nthe next few days I will check it out just to double check things.,

best way to look at it is a little additive is very cheap compaired to a jelled up truck. And the amount of fuel each treats always go with the smallest number they suggest. Adding a little extra never hurts if your going to be parking it for a few days.

weve seen -25 f already this year. i like a 50/50 #1 #2 mix for below zero in the farm tractors and my pickups. maybe overkill, i throw in some howes or power service for good measure. for warmer temps i change the percent of mix.

My 03 cummins dodge owners manual says #2 is good to -10, thats cold, I run a blend in Jan and sometimes in dec and feb. If your headed to W yellowstone I have been out there for as cold as -32 in Jan. Bring some antigel, it would suck to be on the side of the road -20 below changing a fuel filter. Carry a spare f filter.
