K... so I am not a techy person. I still don't have a smart phone. My old computer you had to crank start every morning.

So I am trying to get up to speed, first step was purchasing a new lap top. It has Windows 8, which I don't mind.
I was parked in front of a job site today. Pulled out my laptop, tried to poach some internet access, no luck. Made some phone calls, and set up some meetings. I entered the meetings in the Calendar App. Went about my business, then shut my computer down.
When I got home, I was going through a few things and noticed the meetings that I entered were not on the Calendar. Do you need to be online for those meetings to save? or did I not shut it down properly?
Sorry to make a short question long...
