I've got a 2006 M, RKT 800 BB and 153 track, lots of other extras including a 4" rise CroMo steering column. Somewhere around 1400 miles on the chassis.
Basically I'm very pleased with performance but one nagging item is that I have a lot of play in my steering, due mostly to flex in the steering support bracket. The riser increases leverage and flex, but even at stock height it has always been easy to move the steering several inches forward and backward and an inch or so side to side just by leaning on it. The bushings are tight, BTW.
This amount of play must negatively affect steering precision, and I'd like to strengthen this weak link. Has anyone else noticed this being a problem? Anybody beefed up the support, or maybe added gussets or structure to keep the wobble down?
