Hi Guys,
Need some input on my idea, seems like it will work in my mind. I have a 6 1/2' by 12' lawnmower trailer. It is one of those with the 1' high rail and a big gate on the back. I have 2 older sleds that don't fit easily.
Here is my plan. Put (2) 4x8 sheets of 3/4 plywood cross ways with (4) 2x6x8' running cross ways under each sheet for support. Attach the 2x6's to the plywood and then fasten them to the top rail all the way forward on the trailer. I will build a small box to go in the center to support the plywood sheets and the back edge of the deck that wont be on a trailer rail. The rear 4' of the trailer will be a wood ramp that will transition to the big metal ramp on the trailer. The older sleds are narrow so I can put a 2x4 on each side of my newly built deck.
I don't use this trailer at all during the winter, and I can easily remove this is the summer. Cost will be about $110.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appriciated.
Thanks, Idaho redneck
