Will they fit??

Alright boys. I'm parting out a 2006 polaris fusion 600 that had ohlins on the front ski shocks. On the Ohlins it says 17.5 so I'm assuming they are 17.5 inches eye to eye. So I'm just curious other than revalving and such if they will fit on my 2014 pro RMK???

If you were to shorten them to 16-5/8 for the 2013 - 2015 ... and figure out the valving... sure... lots of work IMO. ... But they would look pretty trick...the Ohlins look trick.

I don't think so, i'm going threw the same thing. sold my IQ, took my zbrozs off and zbozs is telling me that they are about 7/8 inch to long to run on my 14 pro, sending them in to get serviced and make necessary changes.

Too good of a shock to not use. Send to gas shock repair in Idaho for very little and use them. I would call first to ask if they will shorten to what your looking for. Seems like very little work to me to keep a upper end shock. Thanks!
Dan

FYI, IQ arms have a different size bolt holes, along with OEM shocks - Pros went metric, IQ's were still standard. Don't know impact on those shocks.

These other guys are trying to rob ya. . .I'll make ya a real deal offer . .and since it's Christmas ..ya know it's a good one . .I'll give ya 85 bux . .and 10 more to help out for shipping. . .. ..just tell me where to send the chek!:becky:

You might want to do some more checking first. I shortened my zbroz off a IQ to fit a 12, but was told I shouldn't shorten them any further for a 13-15.

I had mine reworked by a VERY reputable shock builder. They didn't advise it.

outlaw, can you send me a pm with a little more detail because zbrozs is telling me no problem , thanks

OA...There are two ways to shorten a shock as you probably already know... but I'll offer it up here for clarity.

One is to open up the shock and put an sleeve spacer (shim) between the piston and end of the shock... This will shorten the shock but also eat-up that same amount of travel.

The second option, the best IMO, is to have the shock body and the shaft shortened (cut and re-thread) ... this will give the same travel as the stock shock of that length.
The only shop in the west that will do this, that I know of, is Gas Shock Repair in Idaho Falls.

With these Ohlins, or any other shock with rebound addjustment for that matter... The shaft itself contains some moving parts inside... This could complicate things... Best to check with GSR first as that might get costly.

As Reg2view said.... To run on 2011/2012 PRO RMK or 2011-2014 standard RMK... you will have to drill the bushing I.D. just a hair to get the 10mm bolts to fit. On the 2013/14/15 Pro and 2015-SnowCheck-std RMK... You will need to drill one bushing... and make a new one for the smaller lower 8mm bolt. I'm sure Andy at GSR can help you out there.

Also..Please limit any sales offers/talk to the Swapmeet/Parts Counter/Signature ...Thanks.

Or just buy 2012 lower shock bushings (4) that are for a 10 mm bolt for about 12 bucks and save the 8 mm bushings.
