OA...There are two ways to shorten a shock as you probably already know... but I'll offer it up here for clarity.
One is to open up the shock and put an sleeve spacer (shim) between the piston and end of the shock... This will shorten the shock but also eat-up that same amount of travel.
The second option, the best IMO, is to have the shock body and the shaft shortened (cut and re-thread) ... this will give the same travel as the stock shock of that length.
The only shop in the west that will do this, that I know of, is Gas Shock Repair in Idaho Falls.
With these Ohlins, or any other shock with rebound addjustment for that matter... The shaft itself contains some moving parts inside... This could complicate things... Best to check with GSR first as that might get costly.
As Reg2view said.... To run on 2011/2012 PRO RMK or 2011-2014 standard RMK... you will have to drill the bushing I.D. just a hair to get the 10mm bolts to fit. On the 2013/14/15 Pro and 2015-SnowCheck-std RMK... You will need to drill one bushing... and make a new one for the smaller lower 8mm bolt. I'm sure Andy at GSR can help you out there.
Also..Please limit any sales offers/talk to the Swapmeet/Parts Counter/Signature ...Thanks.
