will the fit kit fit??

I'm looking at getting a 1996 kx 500 but I seen on timbersleds website the fit kit is from 01 and up. . Wanting to know if anyone has ran an 00 or older kx 500 and will that fit kit actually work? ?

I will be trying on my 2000 Kx500 tomorrow. Your forks are different diameter than later years, I think. My hope is the swing arms are the same.
