Will SnoPro 600 -08 crank fit M7?

Different block.

the sp600 uses the 440 block.

I was hoping to put a larger top end one one of them & ran into that as an issue.

You're talking about two different 600 blocks. The new 08/09 block is different from the 440 block, however, it's very similar to a 700 bottom end. The main difference is the lack of oil injection, and the rods are different. If you put 700 rods on the crank, you can fit a 700 or 800 top end on it.

Thanx, now that's something I wanted to hear :) I knew 440 uses same bottom end as 500 but I'm not familiar with this new race engine.

I checked part numbers of both crancks and all the bearings, seals and even middle oil/waterpump gear are the same. So how much there's difference between strokes? 700 stroke is 70mm. Tried to google Sno Pro stroke but could only find info which says it's also 70mm?

Yes, you are right. Top connecting rod bearing number is different as well as bottom connecting rod bearing. This doesn't mean they are different size but they may be.

Would be nice if someone who has both cranks could check the differences.

if you are on hcs, msg "srpdyno". He just picked up an 09 racer at haydays and knows all the tricks. He has extensive knowledge of these cat laydown motors. If he hasn't already done it, i'm sure he will have an 800 top end on that racer very soon.

I thought the f/m7 bottom-end/motor was a direct bolt up to the sp motor mounts but oil injection was lost. There are a few bb9 sp's running around on HCS.

the rods are the same stroke they have different sized wrist pin bearings.

dont see why not replace with speedwerx light wieght rods and should be a fast reving motor.

Why not just slap an f/m7 motor in it and start from there?

That's what I was thinking.

I'm sure you could find a whole motor somewhere & just do a bb on it.

What I don't understand is why would the new motor from an 08 use a motor mount pattern that only matches an out of date motor? (extra stock?)

Do a search on hcs...there's about 50 pages that explains why they used that motor. Basically, they could only fit that crankcase in that chassis. That's why they put a 500 motor in the trail version this year. Nothing else will fit unless the whole bulkhead/tunnel is redesigned, which defeats the purpose of using the "racer" chassis. There's no room whatsover for another motor or even for oil injection. I'm almost positive this is the same crankcase as the 700's. If you add 700 rods, you can easily bolt on a 700 top end but will have to mix your fuel. Speedwerx does make BB kits for the 600 motor but they are very expensive.

In my case I'd like to put racer crank into my modified CF 700 just because of weight loss.

But it would be really cool to mount some 700 based big bore into racer. CPC 1000 + 141" track + light weight suspension in new racer - sounds fun to me :)

Too shame they designed racer front end so small you can't put a bigger motor in.

Well, anything is possible. You just can't use a bigger bottom end. You can swap the rods, bore out some 700 cylinders to 900cc and have a seriously high hp sled. Or, fab up a new bulkhead/tunnel and use build a crazy 1200 turbo in that thing! ahahah
