Will removing 6-8" per side of under running board coolers leave enough cooling?

I've had nothing but problems with my M10 skid mounting to the stock tunnel. Both coolers cracked where they bend upward under the running boards. Had them welded, lasted 3 days and broke again. Just can't get the extension tight enough with the provided support brackets after removing the main stock support.

So anyways, I want to cut the coolers right before where they broke, weld a new end and then just run a flexible hose back to the rear cooler. Will removing 6-8" of cooler per side leave enough cooling for a turbo apex?

This is just temporary until I can get into a VA tunnel.

I had to run a short track tunnel/coolers for my Stage 1 Supercharged RX-1 this year at Revy and expected to have temperature issues. Worked great though, no problems but good snow conditions too. The coolers are substantially shorter than the Apex Mtn coolers.
