will m8 motor work in m7 sled (2005)

Was wondering what problems I would run into if I were to buy an m8 motor to trade out my m7 bb , it is getting a few miles on the bottom end and was thinking about just changing motors. Will the 2005 ecu and wiring and m7 pipe and everything else interchange. What problems?

Nope. There's a thread in this forum that discusses it, search it out. The bulkhead, wiring, ECU, electrical are all different.

So according to the little imformation I can gather, an additional mount, new ecu and harness. Doesn't sound bad, sell the old bb 800 with harness and ecu to put towards the new one

or sell the sled and buy a used or new m8, you would save time and money in the long run, and have a better product with a better resale.

Don't know about the better product , besides the added weight. 2005 was the lightest m series made. 461 lbs from the factory. Besides, I have all the other trick stuff on it, like I like it . My ultimate plan is to punch it out and turbo it.

Green for the suggestion though.
