Will idle adjustment affect the tps setting or vice/versa?

Just wondering if you change idle adjustment will it affect your tps setting @ idle .93v? Or if you reset your tps setting and fix it to .93v will the idle rpm's change? Not quite familiar yet with the tps and how it affects the idle rpm's.

The reason I ask is because will be checking my tps settings and currently idle is good @ 1700 rpms and if the tps is off and I reset it to correct setting will the idle change? If so how do I reset the idle when done without affecting the tps.

Forgive me I have had a long week with work and my mind is tired out.

Sorry just found the correct video link that works. The reason I am asking is I have the SLP tester thats why and there instructions just say to attach and then set the TPS by loosening the tps on the carb and rotating it to increase/decrease voltage. doesn't say anything about adjusting idle screw and the other on the throttle bodies. Will I be ok to just adjust if needed by rotating the tps so I don't have to take thorttle bodies off as I just have stock throttle cable not the fbf.

no you have to do the full proceedure the first time then you adjust it by the idle screw. if you are at high altitude use .97v

OK thanks. Just hate the idea of having to get the oil pump throttle cable off and on again or hope I can get it out enough to do whole procedure. And sled is a shorty @ sea level so .93 for me.

if you are sure they are synced you can just back off the idle screw completly then set the base setting and then use the idle screw to get your .93v.

Just did the complete procedure. Damn I really need to get the fbf cables. Just seen the cable attached to the throttle body one of the cables was frayed and winding off. Also on the slp tester there is 2 of the connections for the Polaris one the one you need and the other is reading backwards. Idle was 4.1 didn't see what the wot was. Been using that one starting off and couldn't figure out why I couldn't get to .705 before setting the idle.

the reason I got it instead of making one is I live in the middle of nowhere and no access to radio shack unless mail order and didn't want to end up getting parts and having a bad resistor or what ever part some needed to get couple times before it worked. so coughed up over $100 bucks, can't really remember what slp was charging.

Oh well, now I know next time all I need to do is the idle hopefully.
