I have a 2010 assault and my son a 2011 pro. Pro bought as pol exec. w/200 miles and warranty. assault had 2300 miles with no issue's until last trip to cooke. mag. side rod bearing. pro now has 530 miles with two new short blocks since he bought it jan. 3,2012. both times pto bearings. great dealer in moose lake mn. got warranty on pro untill april 2013. bottom, is the gizmo a top end "fix"? or does help the bottom end also. assault was bought new dec. 2010 so warranty covered me also. (2 yr. engine contract). planning on spending 6 wks. in cooke next winter, hopefully riding, not wrenching. any help/info is greatly appriciated.

Mine started leaking.. Was told they had none in stock to warranty it, so I replaced it with an slp bypass. Rk tek has a nice drop in kit for the pro that I used in the cfi 4 that made very good power, sled also runs cooler. Too bad your under warranty, Indy Dan's long block with Rk teks drop in kit would be awesome!

The Gizmo is not a topend or bottomend "fix". It helps prevent the blast of cold coolant to the cylinders after shutdown and startup. Indydan's kit would be the way to go and im sure his warranty will trump polaris's big time and you wont have the downtime.

I understand what the gizmo does. I watch my temps all the time. running 126-138 most of the time. stop. Take off again and get the cold spike, down to 106 or 108. most of the problems i've heard about are top end. cylinder scuffing, scoring, skirts breaking when talking about the gizmo "fix". this is why ask about it helping the bottom end.

What track are ya running in Cooke's powder? i'm thinking of going to a 155 ce 2.5 from the stock 146 track, the stock track has done me well in the western spring snows, I'm hoping to get into some deep mid winter powder this year!

stock H lug. I'm gettin' old and slow, but think it works well. Jan. and feb. trips we had lots of fresh pow. March trip was hero snow. My son thinks it trenches more then his Pro, but that is also a 155. If I snowcheck an Assault next spring I'll probably opt. for the powder track.
