Hey guys. My bud is rebuilding a sled and we need to know if a Stock Gen 2 chassis 800 Pipe and Y pipe will work on a 700 of the same chassis.

It just has to fit since its a spare sled for relatives etc.

Thanks

This the same MP from back in the day? If so, I'd think you'd know the answer to that one.

I would think so. They aren't that much different of an engine. Same block, same everything pretty much, except bigger pistons, right?

The 800 pipe has the same header pipe and cone as the 700 pipe. The difference lies in the stinger, which flows more volume in the 800, so yeah, 800 pipe will not cause the 700 to run too tight.

I've heard of people even putting a 700 pipe on an 800 engine at altitude.

Of course its me. I'm around just not on the boards much except to lurk.
I was pretty sure it was the same block.

Yah, I do know a guy that put a 600 SLP Pipe on a 800 once and he said it really worked good especially above 10,000.

We get far over 10,000 here all the time and unload close to 9K alot. Makes sense, especially since alot of PSI Pipes had the restrictor bolts in the stinger pipe.

Oh no. This thread could go 10 pages now with pipe arguments like the good old days. ;D

Mmm, yeah. This thread COULD get ugly right about 3:00 when school gets out. LOL

I have not heard of anyone running a 600 pipe on an 8. That's a new one.

Yeah, the restricter bolts are a good idea, and it's a lot easier/cheaper to do that, than it is to change pipes.
