Wieght Transfer Hithch on V-nose?

I have a 25' Haulmark V nose enclosed and want to put transfer hitch on it. I am wondering how it would work because there is no room to bind up the chains with the trailer body in the way. There are chain hooks welded to the tongue so looks like it was done before. Wondering if you would hook the ball up and then jack the trailer and truck up, then hook the chains, then let the jack down if that would transfer enough weight. If anyone has this set up I appreciate some pointers. Thanks

That is the same set up my trailer has, and I did exactly as you described, but lately I just use a small floor jack that I keep in the trailer and jack them up and put the chain on. Works well for me.
