Why wouldn't this work on a Nytro instead of an Apex?

So I am over browsing around on OFT's site and come across this and wonder WHY couldn't we do the very same thing on the Nytro??

So I am thinking...

A 90 degree elbow coming off the outlet on the tank going to the left.
Then install the Valve.
then another 90 degree elbow going over the left side of the tank.
Shoot straight down to the bottom and install the the filter there.

That should protect the brake rotor from getting any oil on it from misting/blowby ???

I just put an intake kit on and that is basically how mine is set up now. The hose routes to the same spot and then just has a filter on the end. Should work pretty good I think.

hey Christopher
the only thing I would be worried about with this type of setup is the filter element becoming clogged over time with oil. I realize k&n filters use their own oil treatment on their filter elements but that is a different type of oil altogether. I remember on a different forum back when people were trying to figure out a way to keep oil in the tank (pre-rollover valves) someone suggested a simple fuel filter in the breather line. someone pointed out that there was a potential of oil plugging the filter element which could cause huge problems. just food for thought. seems like a pretty clean setup though

Agreed.
I would expect the breather to become 100% saturated at some point.

Yup.
That is pretty much what I am thinking.
Off to buy one of these this morning and get this little project done!

I ran one of the small KNN filters for years on my turbo.

Run the hose straight up to the to as high as possible and then down all the way as low as possible.

That way there is almost 0 oil loss Even in the event of roll over.

cheers............:face-icon-small-hap

The stock unit has a return that goes into your Intake Box, so its not a big issue.

This is a problem for anyone with forced induction.

thats kinda what i was figgerin. i have my front end off (replacing that saggy a** setup with a 2012 front end im hoping will bolt right on my 08.) and just looked at the air box n cleaned it out yesterday, and then i saw the post, and was wonderin. thanks.

ahh yes. now i see why there was a little bit of oil on that air filter in the box. now where did i just see that thread with the valves........

thanks guys. probly woulda been another year before i thought of that. THIS PLACE ROCKS AGAIN!

You still have the oil spilling isue when you roll over.

You need either the roll over valve or a hose set up that contains the oil.

Nytros are bad for leaking when upside down.

That is I installed the OFT Roll Over Kit in one Nytro and the Four Stroke Solutions Jacobson Roll Over Kit in the other one!!
