09 m1000, got the exhaust alarm, checked sensor and it was bad, was plugged into slp pipe, took sensor from m8 and tried and still flashing 17, bought new sensor and put stock pipe back on. still flashing 17,

anyone run into this probleum.

i had just burnt a piston and cyl and replaced a week before this alarm came on. and had some pre mix in the fuel.

please somebody lol

Check out the wiring that the sensor plugs into, you probably have a short or a broken wire/open circuit. Mine rubbed through where the factory installed zip tie was, just behind the plugin.

Please correct me if I am wrong but doesnt it take a little ridding to get it to clear? Also, don't zip-tie the wire to the sensor. AC changed that because it was putting too much stress on the wires coming out of the sensor

Just like stated above, when I have seen this occur....just go back from the sensor plug and you will find a frayed or broken wire.

Have also seen fine cracks around the sensor plug area on the pipe cause this.
