I have been looking for the right set up for a couple days now on SW and can only seem to find something for the wrong lenght track,or for a BigBore and the list goes on and on.
My sled now is a 07 rev 800r with 6000'+ heads, porting,VForce and I have put a 163" 2.86pitch on it from a 09xp. 19/45gearing 7tooth Wahl drivers. I have bought a Team Tied with a 66/60-66/62 helix in it and also still have the stock QRS. Does anyone have something like this and have found a set up that works good? Thanks for ANY info in advance!

What have you tried?
What is it lacking?
What shape is the engine in?.....I have to ask that on '07's as they are notorious for excessive PTO runout and eventual failure. Have had many in the shop thinking it is clutching only to find it's an engine issue. Does it pull 8400rpm? What is the PTO runout as it sits in the sled? Original engine?

Hey thanks Brew! The sled has been pretty much stock from the get go, I have had Trygstad's heads on it for three seasons now and VForce reeds for 1year other than that it is stock. I have never had any troubles with the motor that now has 2600mi on it, everything ran fine when I took it to him but knowing that I was sitting on a time bomb I wanted things freshened up. As Im typing this it's at Daves now and he is doing a complete rebuild along with his porting. Last year I had 13g pins in it and everything else stock"clutch wise" and could never get past 7700-7800rpm. Now with the mods that I have done and the idea of running that Tied Team and wanting for the first time in a long time cooler running clutches I'm really wanting a set up that works, seems everyone has so many different ideas that I'm lost:face-icon-small-fro:face-icon-small-fro

In that case....the easiest thing to do and what I would do if it was mine, When you get it back all freshened up (I assume they are going through the bottom end as well?) I would put the stock secondary (44/40 and pur/pur) and the stock primary setup (415's and a 160/290) and add a little pin weight and try it. It SHOULD easily pull the 8400 or whatever RPM Dave would like you to run with his changes. Once you know you are making power the clutching will be much easier. To me it sounds like it wasn't making power, perhaps due to just being tired or the crank issue that is common.
Then throw that Tied on there...I would leave the 415's i, the primary, a 160/320 and however much pin weight for RPM. Maybe a little more helix in the Tied, but I have just started playing with those so I won't make a recomendation there.....maybe someone else can. Does Dave have a recomended setup?

Wardy How does this compare to the 66/60-66/62 I only ask cause I really have know idea if this is what I need or not, you see I bought the team from another SW member and was just trying to reach 8200rpm at 8000'to11,000' and cooler temps!!

Ya Brew Dave is going threw everything new crank, his wider single ring pistons, bearings, and his porting! When done this will be a new wait hold that better than new engine that should really haul! Last year I had that pos challenter lite 159" and hated it thats why I went with the 163" 2.86pitch but with the same clutch set up the 159 would like to over rev and I thought going to the bigger track things might be close, boy was I wrong now when climbing like i said it only hits 7800 at best but still holds top speet on the trail 68ish mph wich im fine with. I will try your set up and go from there, if you need anymore info please let me know if that would change your opinion at all! Thanks agian for advise I should have contacted you earlier

Don't know how it compares,I have had the rk helix since day one .
Im run 433 ramps 130/290 spring, 23 grams pin wt, run in clicker 2.
5000 to 8000 ft
Holds rpm solid, no fluctuation, back shift is very quick, great engine braking on the down hills
