If that's isn't a big corporate puff piece I don't know what is. My original Klim gear was awesome... no doubt about it. But as each piece wore out after 7 years of riding I started to replace that stuff with new Klim products. My opinion is that quality has dropped dramatically and I have to question some of the materials Klim has chosen to use as the outer shell.

The Klim Valdez... warm, comfortable, good fit, but has an outer layer that tears on leaves. No serious boondocker can wear this jacket because it just gets shredded WAY too easily. I understand that if I hit some big pokey stick that I'm gonna tear it but it's really silly how easy it is to rip that outer layer. I sent the jacket into Klim for repair 9 months after buying it and received a letter saying "The life of the item was up. Please replace it." I called in and was told the same thing and was made to pay them around $30 for shipping the jacket back to me. Nice slap in the face after paying $430 for it less than a year ago.

I sent my Klim Klimate pants in for a seam repair in the crotch. Same deal "The life of the item was up. Please replace it.". Again, charged almost $30 to have it sent back to me.

The one product that I have bought that I have ZERO complaints about are the Klim Adrenalin GTX boots. They are flat out amazing and the best boot I've ever put my foot in. Warm, dry, comfortable... my buddy bought an extra pair just for hunting he likes them so much. I will stand behind something that is worth the money and the boots I would pay an extra $100 for since they are THAT good for me.

I know this forum LOVES Klim and I think the company we all used to worship is slowly losing it's grip on the customer support base. New pants with no insulation (so you have to buy another Klim base layer), jackets that tear too easily, stitching that doesn't hold up, and a warranty department that is starting to turn people away. I admit it... I was bummed when I hear about guys sending in all their 6-8 year old gear and getting all brand new stuff sent out no questions asked and I get stiffed for a legitimate gripe about my expensive new jacket. Very upsetting. I hope Klim does better in the future because I'm looking for someone new to try now.

Well this is going to be a interesting thread.....

I have a bunch of Klim Gear and others as well. The Klim gear ranges from new to 6 years old have not had to warranty any of it as of yet....Now i have bought a pair of Motorfist boots, gloves and the dominator helmet and all have been send back... Gloves repaired due to seam ripped...boots not staying buckled and the rubber coming off the toe.. so i elected to get a pair of Stomper 2's back and so far 1st ride i am really liking them, And the Helmet :rant:oh the Helmet i am on the 3rd one in 2 months.... trim broken and cheek pads not stying snapped but i love the fit so its hard to give up on it, As for the warranty from Motorfist i am very pleased very fast to respond and get replaced..

I guess Overseas Cargo shipments are just what they are! Built fast and very poorly built and lacks quality!!!! lets get back to the American way!!!!! We may pay more but we get way more from the product...

Another thing to think about with klim is their waterproofing membrane is gore tex. If you research who gore tex donates too, it is all to wilderness advocates and anti Motorsports organizations. That's just what we need is more money going to tjem

going to try their warranty on some pants. I'll let you know if you can trust them after.. :face-icon-small-coo

Klim just warrantied my wife's pants and jacket from 2006. Will be interesting to see how the new stuff wears and performs.

MOTORFIST! That's where all Klim's employees went anyway! After similar warranty issues I am still wearing mine until I can justify getting a new gear.

MOTORFIST! That's where all Klim's employees went anyway!

...And you know this as fact?

I've had Klim bibs (purchased in '06) and a jacket (purchased in '08) repaired under warranty for moisture leaking in, free of charge as advertised. I've also had a pair of bibs that I ripped the leg open on the corner of my sled trailer repaired for $50.00. They repaired the panel to ensure integrity of the water proofing and durability. They didn't stick a little patch over the torn area, they replaced it, and they are still covered under the lifetime warranty. If you are honest and up front, so is Klim!

My Valdez jacket has rubbed against a lot of trees and branches over the years and there is not one single tear in it.My togw bibs leaked in the seat and my power cross gloves as well got wet. Both were replaced under warranty this year.Brand new gear with a few questions i'm a happy camper again.

I like my Klim gear but, like others have said the quality is not there, especially for the premium price. I will not buy anything from Klim again. I had a zipper fail on some bibs the second time I used them. They denied an exchange while I was out of town, and when I returned home to make a warranty claim they denied that also.

I have a jacket that is either 8 or 9 years old. The velcro is coming loose where it is sewn on at the snow flap and also at the right wrist. Still a great jacket.

I have a 2 year old Togwotee bib. The velcro around the right leg snow flap has come completely off, 2 snaps are broken and 3 small tears in the fabric around the knee.

I do not believe the durability of the new fabric is anywhere near as good as my old jacket. The bibs I bought at the same time as the jacket were replaced 2 years ago under warranty (wet butt and thighs). Warranty has been great for me. Maybe I was just harder on the new bibs??????????

Durability is just as good as the past.

new better machines have sharper components that like to snag fabrics.
new better machines allow riders to venture into new places, ride longer, harder, more technical. so of course the clothing shows more wear and tear. i know myself the places I go now on sleds compared to 5 years ago is crazy. we ride the trees like crazy these days. if anything the fabric has gotten better. The new stealth stuff is a freaking mazing.

gore-tex routinely donates funds to motorized coalitions as well.

motorfist employees are not ex Klim employees. the motorfist owner was at one time a partner in teton outfitters.

let us not forget that warranty is against manufacturing defects and not our own stupidity and accidents and that we should not expect those to be covered. Sure you can get suckered into thinking another company will cover anything and everything... but eventually the bottom will drop out. When people start raving about a company because every piece of gear they bought that year had issues and it was all replaced for free, and some of those pieces that were replaced are replaced again, you might want to think about what quality really means to you.

I trust klim products, always have, always will.

I'm still wearing there original "Aggressive" bid and with 1 million logged miles , 1439 cycles through my GE Spin-O-Matic washing machine. All I can say is the bib has exceeded my expectations. I have farted thousands of times in my Klim Aggresive Bibs and not a single blow out.

I have several Klim jackets my dog has chewed on the sleeves I have contemplated there warranty but I'm having a hard time explaining to them that my dog has a thing for sleeves.

My stuff is at least 8-9 years old and still going strong... I even started buying their dirtbike gear now... pricey, but, if it lasts 1/2 as long it will be worth it.

I still have a tomahawk jacket that I bought in 03. One pocket was ripped due to carrying tools in it. I bought some gore patches and fixed it myself. I also have a Klim Valdez jacket and IMHO the new gear is more durable.
