Why the 800 over the 600?

that 600 is very impressive to say the least! i have a sba and my buddy has a 600 rmk 144 and that 6 runs with my 8 in a flat out drag race, wish they made a 600 assault i'd own one.

Well the 600 is not bullet proof. Melted down a cylinder on my 2010 600 with 1300 miles on it. So why not get the 800.
I'm giving Poo one more shot and have a new 13' SB Assualt. Hopefully its as fun of a sled as everyone says.
Should be a good sled for a flatlander like me that wishes he could ride in the mountains. But has to stick to boondocking through michigan.

I'm really going to try and break this sled in right with polaris blue 40:1 in the first tank and the first oil reseviour being polaris blue then switching to VES gold after that. Mechanic suggested now more that half throttle for the first 125 miles then no wide open throttle until after 200 miles if I want this 800 to last. (its going to be tough to not open that puppy up)

My experience anyway.

2005. One, 900 blown motor.
2007. Three, 600 motors went south.
2009. One, 800 motor grenaded.
2011. 800, 1800 miles. No issues.
2011. 800, 800 miles. No issues.
The STOCK 600 does not compare to the STOCK 800 in the mountains!:face-icon-small-dis
Been there, done that. $.02.:face-icon-small-win

THERE'S NO REPLACEMENT FOR DISPLACEMENT! but...... i do REALLY want a 600 pro for a back-up/alternative on my trailer. just sayin:face-icon-small-ton

Where are you coming up with this $2000 difference. The 600 Pro 155 vs. 800 pro 155 is $1400......
I only ask, bacause I'd consider a 6 if it truely was $2000 less

Now, my question is.

For reliable performance, is the 600 with a 660 going to be a better option than a STOCK 800?
I'd assume the 660 should be close to the 800 in power/trq?
1700$ for the Carl's kit puts the 600 into stock 800 pro territory, $ wise.

I've done big bore 800 & 700 Doos, turbo Nytro..Big HP and torque is a blast...
But there some sorta personal reward or feeling making an 'under dog' do things that the 'big dogs' do.
I always felt the turbo made things "too easy". Where there is little risk there is little reward I guess.

Granted, the Pol 800 IS the under dog as is. lol At ~140 hp vs ~165 hp n all.

It's an interweb thing, same as this <---------------------> is 10 inches.
My truck has the heaviest diesel engine on the planet.
My Pro's have all had 800's. BTDT on 600's vs. 800's in the hills.
Now I practice getting stuck 8" deeper on my 163's.
I went out last weekend and adjusted my attitude in 2-3 feet of freshies. Snowmobiler's Gramma says the rest of you need to get outside and play 'cause she's tired of all you kids moping around the house. :grouphug:
