Fast for the most part not so much when its broken!!!

Right now I am not sure there is anything we could do to make the site faster.
Page loads for me are in the 1-2 second range.
That is about as fast as we can possibly make it.
If people are see slow loads, I have to think it is downstream from our servers.

That post took less than 3 seconds total from the time I pressed SUBMIT, to the time it was fully displayed at the end of the thread on my screen.
I just don't think we can get better performance than that.

Perhaps... but remember that dreaded "Database Error" that would kill the site several times a week this summer before all the changes.... personally, I am glad to see that headache gone

There comes a point where you can't make a site any faster as it's the user connection that becomes the limit.

i am no tech guy, but I do know that there are endless factors that can make a PC operate slowly. I am sure harris didnt run down to best buy and pick up some cheap entry level server. At that level the purchases are researched and usually consulted with the manufacturer.
To make a post saying its "slow" and blaming it on the provider is pretty naive at the least.
check your connection speed, check if its going through a virus scanner before it loads, processor speed of your PC, ram memory.... just biatch and complain more and more and make it some one else's problem.
so much complaining, if you dont like whats going on then just leave. As everyone has mentioned there are lots of better forums just waiting for you...

I'm not blaming anything on the servers, but I do get slow loads at times and then there is a page full error and last night I was being redirected to a link not valid error. Guess i'm to f**kin retarded to run my computer then.
I have checked everything from here thru my IP..funny thing is when its slow here I can click over on other places and they are working fine..which points to this site...oddly enough..its about the same speed on the new servers as it was at this same time last year(minus the dreaded errors..)and I am sure there is not near the traffic this year on here........i am no tech guy, but I do know that there are endless factors that can make a PC operate slowly.
