Why so many cheap RT1000s?

I sold my old 600 and am looking at getting a newer rev model. See alot of 1000s in my price range ($4000-$4500) but not too many 800s. Whats wrong with the 1000? Id like to hear from the owners or former owners. (Not the my friend had one guys) Thanks guys. (one near by for $3800)

I would look for an 06, it got most of the stuff fixed that should have been done on the 05. They are heavy, but when set up right really scream. There are a ton of guys on here and doo talk who can help if you buy one. I would say they are pretty much a big guy sled though, you know 220+lbs.

If the updates are done it's a great sled, runs like a champ. The torque is awesome. Yes, a little heavy but there's a lot of weight you can take out. I'd love it if they'd put that engine in the XP! Go for it, good sled and great prices. If you do get one, find some info. on drilling a couple holes in the a-arms. I totaled my RT because the a-arms were too strong and when I hit a rock the whole bulkhead twisted. The a-arms were still perfectly straight.

You just gotta know how to ride. My son is 16 5.10" 110 lbs And can boondock, side hill and climb any where he wants to go on the RT. Bottom line if you can't ride you won't be happy with a RT
exactly, everyone is a bunch of pansies!!!

im 5' 11" 160 in gear, and its a blast to ride, its a little harder than a 800, but the power is hard to give up, got to take a 827 rev this weekend, and the power is so different, much less torque, and just overall grunt.

05 with updates, thats a confirmed runner is good, 06 would be better though, more guarantee. for 3800, if it lookes good, and the person seems honest about it beeing a runner, then buy it, i got mine for $3500, and it has like 1500 in mods on it. runs great, really happy with my investment, if you get it, ask for some advice to help with longevity.

on my 1000 the track ripped in half and the piston broke into chunks ruining my cylinder....but it was warrantied and i love the sled...not trusting it is half the fun

Have an 06 and love the power. It is a different feel forsure but when my 800 driving buddies want to get a little crazy they all ask to borrow the 1k.

I had the track rip off of mine as well and it was also warrantied. Put a 2.5 extreme on there and oh ya now it really rocks!!

cheap RT's

I bought mine two years ago with 350 miles on it for 7g's and havent looked back, except to see where all my buddies are....LMAO:face-icon-small-coo
Couldnt find a 600 for that price...

Heavy is relative, basically if you havent been spoiled by a tricked rev or even an XP, it really wont seem that heavy. Mine feels light to me....

Most of them that are cheap gave up on them. When they first came out they sucked. was alot of issues to be fixed expecially the clutching. Once all the updates got figured out and clutching issues the sled rocks. Yes there heavy but they also have the power. Its like a Turbo Apex who cares about the weight. If you get one make sure all updates are done, Clutch it if it hasnt been allready and add a Thermostat. Then smile and wave.

the power is so much better than other sleds, i rode an 827 rev this weekend, it was almost as fast as the 1000, but its such different power, the 1000 pulls so hard on the bottom end, its like diesel fast, just amazing low end pull, its hard to get on anything else after riding it.
