Why is this in my Y-Pipe?

I use Legend, the cheaper stuff.

NO oil build up from pipe, but it pukes out the breather hose.
Really need to add a small catch bottle already..
Polaris, are u listening? The small things matter.

Have you looked at your VES valves lately? The main reason to use synthetic to help to keep them as clean as possible. Non-syn usually causes more carbon build up on the VES valves.

That is exactly correct and the exact reason all the sled manufactures decided to go with syn. The consumers wanted to do less maintanance on the sleds. I have to clean mine 3x a season and it takes me 20min.

Not trying to start a big argument, but its your polaris synthetic oil. It is a fact that the synthetic molecule does not burn and 2 stroke oil has to combust.

Me and the 3 pros i ride with all run Legend zx2sr oil and every y pipe is bone dry. Mine has 600 mi, 900, 1300, and 2400 mile on the pro 2011.

Thats all ill say cause people dont want to listen about why the public has been tricked into using synthetic oil

You may or may not be right about the oil in the y-pipe, but the leaking has nothing to do with it. It may not burn as well, but none of it does when the engine is cold.

A catch bottle will be just like plugging the hose off unless it is open/vented on the top, which will just spill all over when you roll your sled on it's side. It has been tried by members on here on their IQ sleds, never saw one work out. Some guys have also tried venting the hose outside the belly pan and had problems with then end freezing over with snow, but at least the oil wouldn't be pooling up in the belly pan.

I have catch bottles on both of my 12's and they work very well. The hose going into the top of the bottle is not a 100% seal, but the thick oily residue inside does not leak out and believe me my wife sled has been upside down plenty. I just make sure to empty bottle couple times a year. The seal inside the bottles cap is foam. So when I drilled a hole through it it makes a nice fit to hose without being air tight, but tight enough to not allow oil to leak out.

Why do I have fuel/oil in my Y-Pipe? These pictures are from my 2011 800 Pro. 800 miles. My 2011 with 1800 mile also had the same problem. Both leak out of the Y-Pipe exhaust pipe joint. Now my 2013 does the same thing with 0 miles. Permatex ultra copper seals the leak for one season. Why is this fuel/oil unburned, and why the leak in the exhaust system? Does this fuel eventually get burned up in the exhaust pipe?
I have not touched my oil intake setting nor do I add any oil to the fuel.

for starters never start it up unless you bring to full operating temp, The oils and condensation will build up and create a mess. the water in the motor will also cause corrosion.
