Why is this in my Y-Pipe?

Why do I have fuel/oil in my Y-Pipe? These pictures are from my 2011 800 Pro. 800 miles. My 2011 with 1800 mile also had the same problem. Both leak out of the Y-Pipe exhaust pipe joint. Now my 2013 does the same thing with 0 miles. Permatex ultra copper seals the leak for one season. Why is this fuel/oil unburned, and why the leak in the exhaust system? Does this fuel eventually get burned up in the exhaust pipe?
I have not touched my oil intake setting nor do I add any oil to the fuel.

I would like to know as well. I pulled mine out of the trailer and into the garage to service it and I have oil dripping out of the exhaust pipe.

yer not alone

Mine was the same , stuck a rag in to soak it up cleaned the pan out and ultra coppered the doughnut.
I have read it is from cold starts in the off season and not getting hot enough to burn it off ? ;.. I dunno ? Much smarter folks than I design these things. :face-icon-small-con

Yes they will leak like that if you tend fire them up alot but only move them to or from the trailer. If you don, warm them up the fuel injection runs very rich to give you driveablity and if you don,t get the ex hot enough it won,t burn it off, it will just keep collecting. Godd way to foul plugs.

That's good to know also, thank you. We start our sleds every month so maybe that adds to the problem. As far as the hose from the exhaust valves, we routed that outside the sled, so I know that doesn't add to it.:face-icon-small-hap
I just hate oil and grease being on my sled, anywhere!!:face-icon-small-sho

clean everything up...put back together with decent amount of hi-temp silicone...DOUBLE SPRING the pipe, and it should keep it clean....
Yes I do the Permatex. I will try the double spring. A guy I know that races mentioned this also. Thanks!

It is common on new sleds ( pro any ways ) fo them to leak at first. Both my 12 pros did it until I took them for the first good ride. Once they get hot a few times and the vibrations from engine and riding it seats the grafoil seal and they stop leaking. Cleaned them out after 1st ride and routed exhaust valve into plastic bottle. No more mess.

Yeah i do remember seeing the oil out of those '11s. But the 2013 doing the same thing new? hmm.... weird. When I get home I'll check and see if my Dragon does the same thing. And don't let TC break the new PRO before I get back! :face-icon-small-win Have fun in Cooke!

Not trying to start a big argument, but its your polaris synthetic oil. It is a fact that the synthetic molecule does not burn and 2 stroke oil has to combust.

Me and the 3 pros i ride with all run Legend zx2sr oil and every y pipe is bone dry. Mine has 600 mi, 900, 1300, and 2400 mile on the pro 2011.

Thats all ill say cause people dont want to listen about why the public has been tricked into using synthetic oil

Have you looked at your VES valves lately? The main reason to use synthetic to help to keep them as clean as possible. Non-syn usually causes more carbon build up on the VES valves.
