Why is my clutch spitting so many O-Rings???

My primary clutch seems to be spitting out the hard rubber o-rings that are on the cam arm pin (shaft) on either side. Also, it always seems to be on the bolt head side, not the nut side. Any idea why this might be or what I can do to prevent it?

I'm running MDS weights in there but the shift and performance seems to be good - nothing alarming. Any thoughts?

You have a problem, I would guess you are over tighten them. I think there will be too much play with out and that will damage roller and spider. I would guess there is a torque spec on those. Most just tighten so the weights moves with some tension moving weights with your fingers.

I could never get them to stay on either so I went to the hardware store and got a bunch of hard nylon washers to replace them with several years ago. Cured the problem, haven't lost a one. Did that to about 5 more clutches, all of them are still in service with no problems.

X2. I know a lot of guys who have done that. Also you can't be causing it by over tightening. There is a shoulder on the bolt that won't let you squeeze the o ring too much.

The first clutches that came with the orings did not have a recess for the oring to go in and centrifugal force would just spit them off of the bolt. The next year they changed the clutch and it cured that problem. Sometimes it takes cat a while to figure out the obvious. Do like was said above and change to a nylon washer or your weights will chew up the spider when the oring comes out.
