Why I like BRP

K

knee deep in it

I have owned a number of sleds and have been pretty loyal to Polaris the last 5 years. I bought a 2007 Rev 800r because I have seen so many work well over the last couple of years. I love the sled, it has made me a much better rider.

The warranty was up one month before a rod went through the case. BRP have been having bearing issues and that is the likely case of the crank binding up and heading through the crankcase. BRP made a judgement call to cover the part and the install.

BRP has done a lot of things wrong in the last few years. Most of it has been the result of pushing the design envelope. The other manufacturers are still building 500 pound plus sleds for the mountain.

The reason I like BRP is that they are standing behind there mistakes. How many belts have they given out? How many motors have been completely replaced, not rebuilt, but replaced?

Yeah it sucks to lose a weekend or get towed out, but that is the price we pay for having the technological envelope pushed. Thanks BRP, if you get the rev driveshaft and clutching figured out, I can see an XP in my future.

they maybe innovators and push for better product, but there to slow fixing the problems that do come up! it took a year to fix the 07 clutches, sorry but thats not acceptible, now 08 running into poor clutches again! and what a new belts the cure? sorry theres more to the story! new belts just a bandaid until some one figures it out for them!

Before the others attack...

Glad to hear they took care of you.
A good dealer & good communication can overcome a lot of frustration.

I had a similar incident a few years back, and was back out on snow 4 days later.

Best of luck.

MD.

Doo won me over from Poo as well. I can see a XP in my possession as well in the near future. Just gonna wait for them to get all the tweaks out then we will have 1 hell of a machine :)

Just wish BRP did more extensive research and trail/error on these clutches before puttin them into production. I havent myself have problems, but my friends 07's have felt the wrath.
