why does my 08 xp only ever show half a tank

summit everest xp146. 2008. usually just shows empty for the first 10 miles.
Absolutelly full but shows empty. anyone else?

Its probably one of the 3

1. Your ecm needs a reflash the guages did not get enough power to the
guages correctly.

2. Check the fuse behind the airbox and make shure there is no moisture in
there and its making a good connection

3. Check the fuel pickup sender in the tank and make shure Its not sticking
are in the wrong position.

burp the tank!

The tanks need a burp, design flaw. After first top up need to either lift front end or jump on rear bumper then refill. I have been able to add up to 14 litres after the burp!

I still remember your pic of the accessory kit for the XP from last year. Maybe sandwich a gas jug in the center with the rack of belts?

I had the same problem. The ECM reflash (warranty item) fixes the electronics. I now have an accurate gauge and it appears that each bar represents a gallon of gas, My gas milage has gone way up.

The reflash did not reset my odometer (dang it).
