Why do we have a SWAPMEET and a CLASSIFIED section?

can we merge these two things? i dont know why they are separate and dont agree with the answer I got last time I asked.

why are there tons of parts in the arctic cat sled 2005 and up section ?

there should only be one tab bar on a website, not a blue one and a black one.
why is forums in both?

I never use the black one or the classifieds tab.

have fun

This is actually under discussion along with some other consolidations.

There will be some polls coming up shortly to help us to get a members prospective of what they want changed.

The BLUE BAR is the master SNOWEST menu that serves everything Snowest does.

The BLACK BAR is the FORUMS menu only.

As for SWAPMEET vs. CLASSIFIEDS.

If you have taken the time to go through both of them I am sure you have seen they are VERY different beasts.

While the two accomplish the same thing, getting your item listed for sale, they go about it in profoundly different manners.

The Swapmeet is free form. There is no format whatsoever to control what you post or how you post it.

The Classifieds are very structured and force the advertiser to make sure certain key elements are displayed for each item up for sale.

Am I the only person that had no idea the classifieds section even exist until this thread came along? :face-icon-small-con Always figured it was the same thing, but never clicked it haha

All good and well, but having 2 'for sale' sections is confusing.

When I asked which to use I was told 'use both'.

Huh? Post my item twice.

Kill one of them in my opinion.

If you go through them you will see that BOTH are plenty busy.

I created the Classifieds in response to all the complaints I received about the SwapMeet.

But those members that prefer the Swap hate the Classifieds, and those that like the form and structure of the Classifieds don't like the Swap.

Soooo

We have BOTH and allow people the CHOICE of which to use.

Looks like you just discovered a whole new section of SnoWest. :face-icon-small-hap

you'll make it through finals.
All the rest of us have.
and in 20 years or so you will look back on it and wonder WHY you stressed over it so much.

College is great.
Suck these years dry for everything you can squeeze out of them!

Looking back, those were some of the BEST DAYS OF MY LIFE!

Still havent heard a logical reason for one website to have two classifed posting areas. lets make it one or the other and the classifieds one sucks compared to the ease of the swapmeet section.

the reasons to make something confusing and complicated dont make sense to me. lets just correct the problem, not explain the problem.

swap-meet. sloppy, lots of Qs about what should be posted originally.
state specific. i like that, saves time and waiting on a reply your not going to answer from. NY,MD,ME.ect. im in Wa

classified. accurate description of the parts and pieces.

I dont care either way, if im looking for something ill look where i need to, to find it.

in yur adds post what zip code your in so you dont get 10 or more Qs how much to ship to wherever. let the person looking figure it out, its his money. i dont know how many times ive called ups just to ask how much to ship from here to there. send another e-mail and wait for a response im probably not going to get because of the shipping cost. most of the time the parts are its half of new or less.
heres the cost
heres the zip its coming from.
you get shipping cost.
you determine weather your going to buy it.

dont mean to sound like a azz but my time is more important than some looky loo trying to jew me and expect me to wait in line to give him a smoking deal after it took 2 weeks of calls, emails. buy it or dont.

Its really NOT an either this or that situation.

The two different listings are wildly different.

They both have their advantages and their drawbacks.

Unfortunately there is no one perfect solution.

Some members like the one, while some like the other.

It's E-Bay vs. Craig's list.

One thing about it Christopher, no one is ever going to accuse you of being too good at listening.
