Why do OEM's continue to screw Canadians

Looking at new sleds for 2014 ... BRP snow check promo here is 1 year warranty plus choice of 2 more years powertrain or wrap or financing .... but in US its 4 year "bumper to bumper" or 3 years "bumper to bumper" plus choice of wrap / financing / start.

So again, south of the border you get more goodies for less $! WTF! So much for free trade.

It's because you are all Hoser's, ay! But back on track I just read an article that the powertrain warranty on a Dodge Ram pickup in Canada is 5 years 150K miles where in the states it is 5 years 100K miles. So I got hosed on my truck. Pretty much depends on what the Mfr wants to do.

I don't understand the not having the same programs, but the not the same price deal will always be different, and that isn't the manufacturers fault. I wonder why the program deals are diff?

The fact that BRP is the same way leads me to assume it has something to do with Canadas consumer product regulations.

I was in asking about new ones and we get the four years bumper to bumper as well. If your dealers tells you you don't then he is full of chit. Even the 800 with the ptec get the bumper to bumper I was told when I inquired. I was also told there are no gimmicks assoc. with the 4 year warranty. I will believe that when I see it but he told me there are no limitations in writing that he has seen.

^ Not even necessarily the gov....just the fact that it's 2 entirely different countries, with entirely different economies and economic conditions/characteristics. People tend to forget that just because we are close geographically.....

Its the government. Ski doos are imported to the US and we get them cheaper than Canadians. Ski doo is not ripping off Canadians it is the Canadian government taking more. Much more.

The US under the current administration is quickly catching up though.

Doo takes more as well because the market will handle it. But agreed on the tax front; CDN taxes would be higher at each step as well.

It's all economics. Same reason that BMW's cost more in Germany than they do in the US.

Maybe it has to do with volume??
