Why are my track clips bending?

I have a 2006 m7 with the stock challenger track on it. 2000 miles on the track and the track clips are bending the outer lip up and its chewing up my sliders. This happened first ride so I pulled the junk clip and checked all the others out. None of them were bent this way so I put new sliders on. Second ride I got 40 miles in and bent another one. Shredded the slider. So I pulled that one and put a new slider on only to have it start doing it again. Are the clips worn out or are my drivers possibly doing this? I do sometimes get a wierd vibration in the drivers when I'm really hammering on it or breaking hard. Thanks for any help. I will get pictures of the bent clip I have now and how its wearing on the sliders when the sled gets here today.

How's your alignment and track tension? I bought a 99 XC500 that was missing about 30 track clips and always wondered what caused it. I straightened up the track and added a little tension (it was way loose) and it never tossed another one?

Sounds like you are on the right track! I'd make sure track tension is equal from side to side, but check out your drivers and drive shaft too. Also make sure your rail tips are not catching the track, especially if you're bending the clips on the same side all the time. If the front, rail tip protector is loose or missing you may be catching your track on it?? just a couple thoughts....

Good Luck!

i dont think your clips shoud be worn out, i have an rmk with 4500 miles and the track and clips still look good, it would leem like they are chatching something hard like the front of the rails.
