I rarely visit the Washington forum here because I never ride there but I saw the TV weather forecast and they were talking about snow for you guys.

Out of curiosity I logged in here thinking there would be lots of discussion about the forecast. I don't see anything current. Maybe the forecast isn't for rideable areas, but the first area I clicked for (Glacier Peak) said 43-67" over the next few days.

I apologize if this is the Washington D.C. forum.:face-icon-small-win

With the way this fall has been going with the short teases of snow we have gotten, I will believe it when I see it.

Most spots around here you generally unload around 3K ft and ride up to the peaks about 6500-7000 ft

We're getting pounded above 6,000 ft. unfortunately you can't get to the snow until the snow level drops to around 3,500 and more than just a couple hours. Glacier Peak although it is beautiful and I can see from my window, it is, and always be wilderness. Hoping for some good dumping this this weekend and early next week as I have the next nine days off and am ready to ride.

Took the words right outta my mouth.

I keep logging in here thinking folks might be gettin pumped up about potential snowfall this upcoming week, but its like crickets in here?

Looks like potential snowfall even in the lower passes during Turkey Day and on...why no excitement? Where did everybody go? :face-icon-small-sad

They are to busy getting their sleds ready.
I have been watching this storm with envy also.

We know better, by saturday all that new snow will be in the Puget Sound and the Columbia river if the long range forcast is correct. Its just a typical start to things.

That is my thought too, hard to get too amped about break-in rides just to lose the snow pack later that weekend. Also, this was the NOAA forecast; early snows, above average, but then warmer and drier later in the season...

We really need a cold snap to settle in the area to maintain any chance at a base.

Gota go on trips this year?

Interesting about the need to unload that low. where we go in the Snowies of Wyoming we unload around 9800 and ride at an average 11,000.

Well thats the Rockies for ya!! We get the most of our rideable snow after mid January and all thru March into april! Too early to get much excitement going unless you love road rides! Because if you get off trail you better get some extra A arms!

oh we are excited.....but we need a substantial base out here to cover up the landmines and fill in the creek crossings to even get to the goods. The Mt Baker ski area doesn't even open until they have a 30in base...more than most ski areas got last year! We already had a good three feet this season and the rain washed it all away. but Revy after turkey day will be just fine:)

I don't get excited until I have to get off the FJR and get I'n the F350 to get to Seattle, the snow will come and then I am gonna break the glue on my cousins new pro. He will crawl back to Yamaha He He He! Just kidding Geezer! You will break it all by yourself!:face-icon-small-win
