Who's got the maddest boondocking skills

I had a chance to watch “Schooled Again” last night. I’m sure many will disagree, but IMHO this is the best boondocking ever filmed. One question that kept running through my mind as I watched this video, Brett and Chris are doing this on 500 pd 2 strokes. How good would you be if you could show the world on video how to do this on a 700 pd 4 stroke? Can it be done? If so, who’s going to be the one to do it?

I would put Laird MacDougall up against anybody in the trees. He rides a Nytro with a 174. I know the Yammies are a bit of handicap in setup snow, but if it's deep, I don't know to many that would ever keep up with Lairdo. I can't imagine what he would be like on a 500 lb sled.
The guys who really accell at this type of riding all have one thing in common...they are committed to where they want the sled to go, and sometimes have some cool wipeouts because of it.

I think it's safe to say they could make some damn impressive moves on ANY sled. The only people who argue which sled CAN'T do something are the ones who can't ride. That's like saying your golf clubs don't hit straight.....a guy who knows what he's doing will make it happen on any capable sled.

From what I have seen on the boost movies I would agree with you.

i've never been ripping through trees and thinking "i wish my sled had another 200 pounds on it right now".

I haven’t either, but I have been ripping through the trees on a race gas turboed 2 stroke wishing I had another 100 HP.
I have seen guys do impressive stuff on these heavy sleds despite all the hype about needing light sleds. I agree if you had the skills to ride a 700# sled as effortlessly as a lot of guys ride a 500# sled you would have to be ranked as the best of the best.
I do think it would be cool to see the schooled series of vids have a segment showing somebody following Brett and Chris around or even leading the way on a turbo 4 stroke. I think it can be done, and I agree Laird MacDougall is a top contender to do it. I also thing Troy from LLC in Alpine Wy could do this.
One thing is for sure, if somebody can do this it would sure shut a lot of people up. I mean what could you say if the best boondocker in the world rode a 4 stroke turbo?

Bill Whittle, he rides in the Summit HD films. I have rode with him before and he is leagues above anyone I know and he is holding back so we could keep up.

Bill rides an XP. The subject is 4 strokes compared to 2 strokes in the trees.

There's another guy out in Cooke that goes by the name Ricky Sommers that can ride too!!! Rode with him for the first time ten years ago and have learned tons from watching him over the years!!! He can take a tundra just about anywhere out there!! LOL

wow you can ride a race gas turbo 2 stroke to its full potential in the trees? i am talking about steep + trees not a 7 degree slope with trees 100 feet apart.
