Who's got the best back pack ?

TNA Lightning pack

Does the shovel blade stick out the top when you ride beating the hell out of your helmet or did you purposely take a picture like that showing where the blade is stowed?

I really like my Fly racing pack. It has a great spot for my shovel scoop and plenty of room for everything too. It fits good with a few minor mods....I'm 6'1'' and 230#...

Dakine

Time to get a new one, and I want to fit the video camera, shovel, probe, treats and something that is comfy and will last.

Hey there, Dakine is one of the best companies making bags right now. They have camera protection compartments built in!

Could someone with a OGIO three 6 possibly post a picture of how it carries the shovel blade. Also does it carry the shovel handle outside or does it have internal pockets for the handle and a probe. It seems to be a tough decision between the OGIO and one of the Dakine Heli-pro or Pro II as which one would function the best for me. I have seen both Dakine packs in person and am having a hard time picturing how the OGIO carries everything based on the generic pictures on the internet.

Thanks for any replies.

BCA Stash H20 pack i think is what i have. Lots of room for my take alongs, shovel/probe, water bladder, waterproof, it does what its supposed to do.

nothin beats the Avalung pack by blackdiamond... Plenty of storage, plus that nice little tube to breath in when your 6feet under. That ABS pack looks choice, that will be the standard in a few years, once they get the weight down and more storage space!!!

Just curious how you get that little tube that your supposed to breath in to when your hands are pinned under the snow? Are you supposed to ride around with that in your mouth all the time? :D

Dakine poacher is excellent if you want to carry more gear and it still feels light and balanced. There's a pocket for carrying your shovel/handle/probe and different options for carrying skis/snowboards. Plus it has a zipper against your back if you want to get at stuff on the bottom without taking everything out of the top.

Mine will be here by Monday/Tuesday hopefully, if no one posts pictures by then I'll try to get some up on here.

The Three 6 carries the blade and handle externally. I'm going to have to buy a new one (especially since they are so cheap) since I ripped the strap that holds the handle in out of the pack body while riding through some trees on saturday. One of the trees was a little lower then expected. I'll try and get a pic before I head north today.

I thought I had found the answer to a new pack every year in my BCA pack, but it recently started to tear out on the shoulder straps. So I hope they will either fix or replace cause it was quite a bit more than the last couple I have bought. Rode with a FLY pack and loved the little pockets and storage. But it always got wet inside and zippers went to crap quick.

I guess it really depends on how much gear you plan to bring along in our pack.. This year i bought the camelbak outlaw which was designed for winter sports.. It has the bladder and the line from the bladder and nosel zips inside the right shoulder strap so it doesnt freeze while riding.. There is a front compartment to store a shovel.. and there are places for probes and other gear inside the pack.. i normally carry extra gloves, a beanie, a couplr MREs, and some other survival gear in the back then sinch it down tight cause i like my bag not bulky at all on my back.. it has a waist strap and another stap across the chest.. it has been a great pack for me..

dont know if that is what your looking for but it has been a great pack for me

DA KINE all the way! I have had 3 poachers and the other good one is the heli pro. They make a great product and their warranty is the best no questions asked!!
