so snowest can move faster? I have not and won't, the way I see it is why take a chance on disrupting the "whole system" for 1 website?

At least my wife will be happy that I'm not spending as much time on snowest!

Installing Firefox isn't going to cause any problems with your system.

First, take your Bill Gates powered PC and a) if it is a laptop, screw 3 casters to the bottom and use it for a sled dolly or b) if it is a desktop, turn it into a nice indoor herb garden. Second, get an Apple with Firefox--opens websites WAAAAY faster than Safari or Explorer--and, no more of those nasty viruses, crashes, conflicts or other side effects of a PC!

If that is too extreme, just switching to Firefox is a snap and will not disappoint!

Do you really see that big of a performance improvement on your Mac with Firefox over Safari? I use Safari and really like it. I also have Firefox installed, but use it as my secondary. Do you see a huge perf. gain with it? Universally, or just on SW?

Just curious.

I installed Firefox when 1.0.10 was new.

Lightyears ahead of IE, and still better than safari. Plugins are what really makes FF better than safari.

Like shortstop said, installing Firefox won't cause any problems with your system. Plus, it's an all around better browser than IE Explorer. Try it. You won't go back.

My home machine is a G5 2.3 GHz. I tried a number of sites using both. Firefox was marginally faster in most cases. Like Mule said, the biggest difference was the plug-ins. Firefox already had just about every plug-in you need already installed, whereas Safari did not. Also, my recollection is that Firefox would display the web pages incrementally while they were loading, but Safari would not display anything until the entire page had loaded, which was kind of irritating.

so how do i install this fire fox. i have IE i think and it is slow since the forum changed.

I used to believe the Mac hype until the old lady bought a Mac Book Pro and it's been a gigantic over-priced POS. I realize everyone has their lemons, but listening to some Mac owners, you'd think they'd cure cancer and resolve world conflicts.

I was a DIE HARD Exploder fan until FIREFOX 3.5 came out.

Don't know why, but 3.0 never worked well for me at all.

3.5 absolutely BLOWS IE right out of the water on speed for processing Javascript.

Its all I am running now.

I changed to FireFox and it's much faster than IE on most things, But it does have some hiccups with Snowest

When they show up I have to use IE.

One of the "plugins" you can get for Firefox is called "IETab". Renders the page in IE inside the firefox window. Toggle by clicking the firefox/IE icon in the bottom corner.

There's a handful of sites that just blow chunks over firefox, a few i use at work... when i need to get to one of those, click the IE button and the page renders right.

One of the best plug ins is the Web Developer toolbar ! ! !

I use the features of that ALL the time.

I switched to firefox on my home system, It made a huge improvment. Now I regret having to use IE at work.
