Went riding last weekend with a buddy who's not in town this weekend. Long story short I left my Sled key in his truck.

When I disconnected the ignition switch the sled starts and seems to run fine. Kill switch works etc.

Will I run into a problem running the sled with the ignition unplugged???

KINDA MAKES YOU WONDER, DONT IT?? I HAVE BEEN RUNNING WITH OUT KEY FOR SOME TIME NOW, (CANT REMEMBER WHEN I LOST IT), BUT ALL WORKS WELL, HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS.:face-icon-small-hap

makes it tougher for some body to just hop on and go if its just sitting out side somewhere, but i treat it like a dirt bike an don't remember the last time i even pulled the key out:face-icon-small-cony out

key

if i remember right all polaris keys work, they are keyed the same, at least they used to be my 09 and my 13 are the same. just fyi

Not quite, though I used to own 2 different Polaris sleds from different model years and the keys WERE the same. If I remember right, Polaris has about 5 different keys, so if you have enough sleds, you're bound to find two that take the same key.

Back in the 80's and 90"s all the keys were the same. Most of the time we just butt spliced the two wires together and went. Was way easy then lift hood the ignition wires were right down by the right knee.
We would always freak out one guy by moving his sled when we went in to eat. Collage days.

Poo and AC have five keys now. AC used to have two. Doo's solution was DESS. It can be alittle quirky, but DESS does work, and theives know it now. Stolen DESS sleds can also be flagged if they land in a dealer. FWIW.

I wonder what the point in even having a key is if Polaris makes them so that anyone can just unplug the ignition and steal it?

This is why the moderator should delete this thread altogether - too much information!!!

Have FUN!
