Who to ride with?

Picking up a snowmobile tomorrow (wife is SUPER pissed) but part of the agreement was that I cant head up into the rock pile and ride alone so I will be looking for guys to ride with. Dont care what kind of riding, age, sled you have or if your a serial killer, just wanna have some fun out on the snow again. Grew up in Minnesota so snowmobiles are not a new thing to me. I live down in Brighton but will more than likely be riding the Winterpark Granby area or where ever. Name is Doug

Once the season starts rolling this forum will become more active and you will be able to find someone to ride with easily.

myself, I don't ride that area. I ride RE/buff since it's much closer. But I think it's time to broaden my horizons and get away from the crowed places so look me up in a couple months. :D

Hey Doug, I created a group for people just like you. Feel free to join up, link is in my signature

Yup Ralph is cool, Doug. He let me tag along when I was a noob and didn't give me S once. This sport needs people like that who will take newer riders or new to the area riders. After all, you can still have a blast without 5 others exactly on your level ( :

Hope to see ya this winter Ralph, I can ride now

Finding riding partners won't be a problem. I think I rode once with Ralph... if it was Ralph, thanks. A group of 3 (2 dudes on turbos and 1 wife on a black m8), they saw me struggling all alone and offered an invitation to ride with them for the day. Super fun day and I learned a lot.

Even if you can't get a buddy to ride with from this forum, there are lots of people in the lots on RE willing to let you ride with them. I got to ride with one of Burandts guides for part of the day (until my buddy broke his steering post). He was just cruising the lot looking for a group to ride with.

I've never met a sledder not willing to help out or let you tag along on a ride.

Yup. That was us.

I live a few miles west of Brighton - we typically ride the Snowy's, but also ride Rabbit Ears, Hahn's Peak/SL, and Grand Mesa.

I-70 is a pain on the weekends, a breeze during the week. It is a lot easier to hit the Snowy's from this end of town for a day trip on the weekends IMO.

Welcome to the area & forum!

Snowy range is sweet. I was up there camping for a week this summer. And only took 1 full tank of gas in my tacoma to get there and back.

Yep it is fun in the summer too. My daughter is really liking the fishing up there!

Hopefully this storm treats the mountains well. One of my college roommates just posted on Facebook and said it was snowing hard in steamboat.

It's getting close! We had snow on the ground in Brighton this morning! I am guessing another month? mid nov. till we can start riding? Hoping to find someone to ride with by then. (Fingers crossed)

I can ride almost any time. I work nights, 11pm to 7:30am. If you don't mind me sleeping in the truck, Im always ready to ride.

I would like to be put on a list of people willing to ride with new people.
Snowmark10 what kind of sled did you buy.

Awesome! I picked up an M7 153. Just getting it serviced up for the up coming season. Went through the DD and replaced a few gears and new oil. Some new plugs, new jets and belt. I also replaced a bunch of bad rivets. Should be good to go!

M7, nice! I could get on a stock M7 any day and have fun. I have a 06 that I might be parting out. If you need something. Let me know. I hate to say it but if you said you bought a 2003 RMK 800, I would have tried not to ride you :) you would not have fun riding with me on a sled like that.

Hahahaha! I work nights as well 8-6:30 so if you don't mind me sleeping while I drive the truck I don't care either. Lol. The M7 is an 06 I bought and I am always looking for stuff. I have slp twins on it and vforce3 cages on it now and picking up a billet head to help with heat and bump up compression a touch. It also has a power claw track. Just went throughout the DD and replaced the transfer gear and new oil. This stuff is new to me so I will be learning as I go. But, I can fix anything so I have some useful skills ;)
