Who likes their Dodge Ram HEMI ?

since you live in my old stompin grounds, go to the karmart in mount vernon and get a used 3/4 ton 5.9L cummins it will get better mileage than that hemi would ever even think of! go with the 6 speed manual if at all possible thats where we got our 99 and they had great service

I liked my 05 Hemi just fine. Didn't like the gears I had in it. (3.55) Good for mileage when empty, bad for pulling. Wish it would have had at least the 3.73's. Other than that it was a good truck. But, I like my Cummins better.:D

Thanks guys, no way I'm getting a diesel with the fuel prices. Plus I'm pulling two sleds, not a tank, so I think it'll so just fine. Just wondering how you liked it.

Thats funny that you mentioned karmart, was up there yesterday and they wasted 2 hours of my life. Never been so dicked around. But I gotta say I've never liked dealers, or should I say liers.

I know I am biased, but I like mine!
I have an '06 with the MDS to shut down 4 cylinders under light load.

I rigged a couple LEDs to indicate when operating on 4/8 cylinders.. its suprising. Cruise set at 70 on level hwy, I am still on all 8. but steady speeds under 60 and its consistantly on 4 cyl...... just thought I would share that.

I have the 3.92 gears and it pulls two sleds pretty good. Even with a third in the bed... speaking of which - I would highly recommend airbags for the rear if you plan on putting one of your sleds in there.

they treated us good... course my brother worked there aswell lol

I really like my 04 2500. Ride quality is good, mpg is fair, the power of the 5.7 is pretty good, comfort and leg room is great. As stated above the gearing is not the greatest when pulling heavy loads, but a couple sleds won't be a prob. Will second the idea of airbags!!!!! Helps a bunch when towing, the ability to adjust the ride for diff loads is a huge plus.

the best I ever got with my 03 hemi was 14.5 mpg....... and that was on a trip where I dropped elevation most of the way and had a pretty good tailwind. Oh, and mine was a 3/4 ton longbed quad cab...

towing anything at all, you'll be under 10 most certainly, but thats to be expected..... I knew that going in to the dodge purchase, and it was a great truck while I had it.

Ive never heard a hemi getting 15-17 anywhere, are you sure thats not just coming down Ashton Hill Bullfrog?? :D

Nope, dead serious with the mpg. I do have a tonneu (sp) cover which helps a lot tho. Both on paper and the computer come out the same.

Same here and I have the tonneu cover as well. Got 16.2 mpg from Salt Lake City to Elko and back, 2 people, no load (well, a few refreshments :) )

Buddy of mine had an '05 or '06 half ton. He did a few minor mods to it... had great power and seemed to average 16mpg mixed driving. I would take one over a diesel any day.

mines an 07 half ton. I did afe cold air intake, AT exhuast and an edge evolution chip. At 65 mph I can pull 18mpg out of it empty. Just picked up two new nytros and had them on the sled deck and got about 11 running about 80 mph the whole way. The airbags really help though

I'm sure mine being a 3/4 ton didn't help with the mileage...... and a long bed...

not sure how much more it weighs than a half ton sb
