Who is running AVGAS 100LL in D8.

Dealer has me running 50/50 90premium pump with 100LL avgas in my d8. Is anyone else running this fuel mix and should I be. Seems to run good.

You shouldnt have to run anything over 91 on that sled stock.

Well thats what I thought, but I was told it keeps the motor cooler, keeping it from potential meltdown.

it wont run as good with too high of an octane(high octane fuel needs more compression to make it burn completely..I run straight 90 octane pump premium in mine with slp single(havent had a problem in 2600 miles related to fuel octane...but I havent rode mine yet with the 10 update and sensitve deto light)

Well Ive got 3 tanks of fuel through it after the update. All of them with the 50/50 mix. The pistons look good. See what happens. Thanks Mike.

In a stock sled would not think there is a need, It will run better with av gas but 50/50 that will get tobe a lot of doe. I run it every now and again and I run 2 gals of av gas to 8 gal. of 91 non eth. If you can not get non eth, where you are then maybe that is why your dealer had you go 50/50. What yr is your D8? 09 or newer have the plug you can use for the eth. fuel and it will change your fuel map for that crap.

My dealer suggested the same, I'll gladly run whatever they want if it means it'll stay together this time.

I hear ya Mag. The fuel is 90 octane non-ethonal and the wires are plugged in Suitcase69. Like I said the pistons look good. Its an 08

i also run the 50-50 avgas 90 octane mix.but other than the cool haze and wonderful smell it leaves where ever we go i havent noticed any benifit.the cool red blinking light on the dash at full throttle and 4.49 a gallon i guess could be considered a benifit!

i would run 50/50 at max on a stock sled these things have knock sensors in them better the fuel you run the better the sled will run UP TO A POINT be alot more consistant exspecially on deep powder/long pulls

Just remember Av gas has a lower specific gravity than automotive gasoline so you are also leaning it out a littlle running avgas.
