Who is all getting screwed into working today?

Sux..handbook clearly says July 4 is a paid holiday and if falls on day off the day after will be off or before. Company said since sales peeps have to work 1/2 day on Saturday they are considering that a company wide day off.

It never really bothered me till I tried to do my job today and EVERYONE I do business with is closed. UPS driver came in and said 28 business stops on route today and only 3 are open.

I recently got congratulated on a raise at the same time I was informed that I lost half my PTO. I'm in the office today and tomorrow for straight time. Just glad I still have this job! Hopefully BO doen't fug with the space program.

Doesn't bother me in the slightest, but that's only because I work all weekend. Having spent a couple of months without a job and knowing that there are plenty of peeps out there looking for work, I don't complain about any days that I have to work. Also being in the food and beverage industry I know that we work when everyone doesn't.

I am a driller on a oil field service rig and have it off which was to my suprise since I worked the last two. Hell we almost didn't make it home in time for christmas the last two years since we shut down for nothing. Seven days a week 8-16 hrs a day.

Off today here..... only by choice tho, since being paid on commissions it is a choice we have to make what days are worth it. Today being one of them since most of my shippers/recievers are closed, so not much to do

Fedex is working today! We work on xmas eve as well. Anytime the 4th falls on a weekend, we end up with just a normal weekend. It sux, but like the others have said, my brother recently showed up for work and was sent home for good. 20+ years as a mgr at a factory in Mn and now has no job and nothing to show for it. The company lost his entire retirement, 401k ect... and now they are denying unemployment as well and he has to fight to try to get that. I will galdly go to work today, and Monday as well.
