When we discovered that the backpack was left up there, I told my friend that he did not need to worry you will get it back. This sport has great people in it and they wouldn't consider not returning another person property.

This sport can turn on a dime and Karma can be a real bitch.

Karma consequences

No more snow!!!!

avalanche gear that will now attract avalanches!

You will be wearing it in an avalanche but your buddy has yet to steal one.

You can't wear it because everyone will know you are the thief. ( backpack
worth more than your sled) mmmmm :face-icon-small-dis???

You weren't riding alone, so your buddy knows you are that guy. His riding buddy now has bad karma.

If you loose gear you will not expect to get it back.

Bad things are starting to happen and now you know why.

Or you found it and are looking to return it and none of the above applies to you!!!

If you have been looking for the rightful owner the owner is
Michael B, he lives in Enumclaw.

his phone number is 253-350-9095

He would love to get it back, he feels really bad for leaving it up there.

He has to go to his wife and tell her he needs to spend more money after Christmas that they don't have to burn like this.

Huntfish was a big help, he alerted my buddy to his error. He did the right thing which was to leave it there and alert the owner to their error.

If we had been aware of the error while up there it would have been good to be able to go back and retrieve it.

I posted this because most people if they didn't loose a backpack wouldn't check the post out.

The other post should have warned the owner and the owner should have retrieved and thanked HuntFish.

My apologies coug66, I should have brought the pack home with me. I didn't even think about it. I figured the snowmobile community as a whole would have more respect to others and not jack someone else's pack.

we were up there last Sunday and saw the pack, thought it belonged to another group that was at the cabin before us, guy had 2 older Yamahas and I believe he said his name was Terry? I do remember he was from puyuallup, only other vehicle at the gravel pit when we left was a blue mid 80s Ford ranger with a 2 place open trailer, by no means am I saying that he took it but he may have seen others up there after we left. hope it is returned!

you did the rite thing

You did the rite thing, and I still think there is a chance that he will get it back.

It is probably some inexperienced sledders that do not know about Snowest.

They may be trying to return it, but don't know who it belongs too.

they may also not be computer savvy? :typing:

We will see,

Put a sign at the local sled dealers and shop. Pretty sure any sled shop would be ok with it. 1 might not.

Hint ..put name and phone # in packs, tunnel bags, camera case, ect. Seen peoples belongings replaced because of this.

My peppered beef jerky, 2 bud lights, sweet and salty cashew granola bars and my left hand klim glove haven't been returned yet though from gold creek. 2012

hard to believe

this may be hard for us snowesters to believe... but only about 1 in 10 riders on any given day are ever on snowest.

My buddy needs a trademark anyway.

Coug66-

Can you give Me a good description of the pack, we ride twice a week and will keep or eyes out.

It looks like every other backpack up on the hill. Its a "Harley at Sturgis" back pack in picture below.

Its a Klim backpack with camel back hydration tube, It has a back country shovel and probe. I would not want someone to be hassled especially if it wasn't the actual backpack. The only difference is the stuff inside the backpack.

I don't want to hold too much animosity towards the person with the pack.

He probably doesn't know who the owner is, and it might be he really needed a back pack.

Saturday when I went through my prescriptions I discovered I got an extra bottle of prescription medicine ( someone else's) and for a few seconds thought about keeping them :face-icon-small-con. Then I drove back to the pharmacy and returned the bottle. For that moment I sympathized with the person with the back pack. Thinking about it, was better for me to return the pills, they probably ended up throwing them away but for me my conscience was clear and that's means allot to me.

My buddy should have used a backpack like mine....

Its my trademark.
its a kids school purple back pack from Costco. I am the only sledder sporting a purple backpack. My daughters wouldn't wear it so I decided to put it to use.

No one would touch or wear it no matter how long it sat at the cabin.

I told him he needs to buy his own trademark and own it.

He would flip me crap about my backpack and now he sees the advantage of driving an Aprilia to bike night.
