who builds turbo mufflers?

I am looking to quiet my sled down. Turbo is gt2860

OVS (Ogden Valley Sports) sold quiet turbo mufflers in the past for cats but I'm not sure if it can be retrofitted to the Polaris sleds or not. That's the only company I've see with quiet turbo exhaust. It seems most of the other turbo companies run a bullet straight through muffler.

You can get them off Summit or Jeggs too. Just search for a straight through and your pipe size. Buddy has a Borla. Works well, stainless with lifetime warranty.

anyway it seems like there would be a market for quieter turbo muffler options
how come i don't find much on this ?
do you loose perfomance/HP when trying to muffle it down ?
is it a weight issue ?
maybe heat ?

Ya I would be interested as well. I wear ear plugs when I ride. It's annoying...the loud exhaust and the ear plugs.

Wellfed..... That's the style, straight through. His Borla cross referenced to a Porsche.

Did it make it quiet... No but I could stand next to it in the trailer. His is a 1200 triple turbo though. Thing just sounds posesed.

You need as much air flow as possible to spin the turbo. Also I think space is the other problem. The new oiless it would be much easier.

ok good points yeah i here ya on room i read in a google search someone said a small flowmaster works ? didn't i read some where that the
MNTK turbo setup is pretty quiet ?

if a guy wanted to do some experimenting i wonder where to get the ex flange and 90* turn down to weld to a different muffler ?

Those parts are easy. Find the muffler first.

Company I buy a lot of my DIY parts from is Votion. You can buy stainless J's or S's. I don't know if they will have your flange, but that's a common piece.

Where's your air intake? This can be the source of a lot of noise too.

The design is some type of trail and error
The first silincer i build for this turbo was this one:

But it was way too loud.

So I developed this muffler instead, its build from scratch.
The first version was quieter than the original silencer, and had an 2.5" outlet and little more tube in to the muffler. But it was to restruktive so the pistons was little round on the exhaust side, and the engine was little sluggish.

Now with an 3" outlet an the pipe 70mm in to the muffler. Its little more louder than an stock and runs awesome.
Have tested this setup for 1000miles now and the pistons looks like new.
Running 0.55bar at 1000-2500feet, stock head and 100% pump fuel, the vipec is realy nice

where you seeing spikes in your data logs?
was rpm falling off as you built power and could not get them back no matter what clutching you ran?

The first egt was 590-600c peak.
The seccond with 2.5" outlet was 640c...
And the one with 3" outlet is 600c peak.

whoa, 640 is hot. yeah pistons were saying . lol
looks like you got a good combo now.
i see alot of data logs, egt temp is a key aspect it the tuning world. but very few people look at it as afr is so popular now. wasnt but 5-6 years ago nobody used a afr. funny how fast things change. if your not watching egt when r&ding then you are missing the boat. just like shaft speed and back pressure are key players also.
