Who better than Chris Burandt?

Check out some of Justin Cowett's videos on youtube-

I've rode with a lot of these guys and I don't think I know anyone that could hang with Justin in the trees. To be fair though, he heads into the trees sometime in December and over the next six months he only emerges periodically to get fuel or new parts, so he probably has more saddle time than anyone else. Look for some ridiculous tree lines in Boondockers 7...

Justin is RIDICULOUS in the trees... one of the best days of my life chasing around Dan and Justin through Aspen groves at 9000 feet. Footage available August 2010... hahaha!

Also for those that think Crazy Canadian is just a hill climber, you have no clue. He can ride! Doesnt jump too much though :face-icon-small-sho I think too many people get pigeonholed for the stuff we see them do in the movies. Since we see them really excel at one aspect of sledding, we think thats all they can do. And i know there are so many people out there can tear it up that we have never heard of or seen.

Burandt, Chris Brown, Geoff Kyle, Dan Adams, Dan Gardiner, Rene, Micku, Davidoff, Rasmussen, Jesse O'Rouke, Bill Whittle, Cody Borchers, Priest Lake RMK, Hatchers... how are you going to prove that anyone of these guys is better in the back country than the others... you cant and thats the beauty of it... you can always improve and get better!

Shouldn't Priest Lake RMK be listed first...you know out of respect for his talents?

Did I miss the post stating JOHN HESTON ? Chris rode with him in his younger days and watching them both, and Bret too, I would say there is a lot of all 3 mixed in together in their styles IMO. John just doesn't have the footage filmed in the trees as much. Look at John's footage on 509 and 208 films more recently and dont forget Matt Potratz before his injury in an avalanche last year, an incredible rider.

Being a video producer for a TV show, I can tell you making someone look good requires a ridiculous amount of time doing one set up after another in nasty spots on a tripod, and it kind of sucks. So there is a lot of talent out there that just isn't making it into the movies or hasn't got the boondockin footage to be compared too. But overall, including Boondockin, climbing, jumping, and overall skill, Chris deserves the title. Some of it also because of timing in the sport, the fact he has stayed healthy, his age, the machines available today and the marketing and exposure he has received.

we all can ride better then the experts if we have amy winehouse chasing us down for a kiss or more and our sled is our only escape
